I’ve spent over £1200 on this car in the last year to keep her on the road

an investment, I'm sure.

I started this restoration about 35 years ago

...aaaaaaaaaaaaaand how's it going?

s-l1600.jpg

Just needs the finishing touches.

then children and own house building brought it to a halt.

Are you the Octomom?

Will need some help in identifying and packaging parts …accommodation if you need it.

This might take some time, you're moving in.

an investment, I'm sure.sale sadly due to reducing my collection of classic cars for financial reasons, I’ve spent over £1200 on this car in the last year to keep her on the road, she’s had a lot of welding done particularly in the boot floor area and around the edges of the boot, this has been done to a high standard and the car is now solid underneath to the best of my knowledge, I also had the rear half of the exhaust replaced with a performance exhaust because the original had disintegrated, it’s quite loud but sounds good, she has a long MOT and can be driven away, I can’t obviously guarantee the reliability of a car this age but I personally would go anywhere in her, I have breakdown cover just incase which I think is wise on any classic car.. I’ve had an uprated cooling fan fitted with automatic adjustable thermostat, there’s no overheating issues at all even in heavy traffic and when towing, she starts easily first time with manual choke and once warmed up is responsive and pleasant to drive, 5 speed gearbox is a great bonus and makes motorway travel feel much nicer, she drives like a more modern car and is very comfortable, no power steering and no central locking though, she does have electric front windows which I’m sure were very posh in 1980! However the passenger side recently decided to stop working and is stuck half way down hence the plastic sheeting taped over.. original radio cassette works although it has chewed a few of my favourite tapes, maybe not to be trusted, radio is fine though.. she’s quite cheap to run especially for a big old car and has always been reliable for me, she does have an intermittent misfire which I think could be dirt in the fuel pump because I’ve had everything else checked and it’s only sometimes she splutters a bit, I’ve just got used to it, she’s still in regular use and I still drive this car all over the country.. I have a 1981 Sprite caravan which she towed very well to last years classic car shows and got lots of attention, she’s a very rare car that needs a loving owner to give the upper bodywork some attention and make her pretty again and keep her safe for another 38 years of life! I am sorry to see her go but needs must when times are hard, I hope this old girl finds a good home, her name is Madge..

One sentence. No full stops. That's impressive.

● Like the opposite of a PowerPoint presentation.

● Impossible to read but

● Full of interesting words.

I'm with you there but it has to be the diesel one; crisp Bertone styling, bin lorry soundtrack.

Not overly convinced putting a sunroof in the boot so everyone can see the two silver painted oil refinery pipe clamps and the Ferrari jubilee clips was such a good idea

Interestingly not a peep about it being a F*****i in the ad. Ebay clamping down or F*****i getting f***ed off?

This was 'sold' by the same vendor (great word vendor) recently. The Ebay listing showed the rust which is a bit extensive. Cheap for what it is. I own the van version they are fun to drive (my kind of fun drivers seat perched up high - top speed about 60mph and annoys the ass off other drivers). Looks like it didn't find a real buyer. Cheap for what it is but probably needs a triathlon weldathon. But so few left because of rust. Pics here of the lightweight van construction which is very ingenious.

Van chassis from the Renault workshop manual. These larger Masters have a seperate chassis though- the vans don't, so last a bit longer. Worth a punt for someone - classic van insurance cover is peanuts. Loads still in France tho.

Those Masters always seemed huge back when they were new.

They are. Very low floor because of the fwd and lightweight design. They come short and long wheelbase flavour.

I know, why are all the good ones in the south? Weather helps ;-)

This is, potentially, a bloody good project for someone.

High spec and low money (atm).
