A €2k Acadiane, just down the A26. Love the 'indoors' picture. I can see me growing a beard and selling coffee.

Needs MOT though ('83), says he'll do the CT, which is a year's grace...

That looks superb for the money. And a day trip away for collection too.

In some weird deja-vu type moment, today I drove past the exact spot the £50 Carlton I got from the auctions many years ago expired on the way home. It was the same colour as this.

Absolutely no idea what this vendor is on about, maybe they're related to Chelsea_Dolls_House_Antiques (whatever happened to him) or something...

'has a "plastic" noise when running like there is a loose cover somewhere but this stops after a while. The plastic must get warm!'

'At night open the doors and it's like turning on the sun! A blie sun that is!'

I've posted this non-saggy arsed 'tina before, but now with better pics. It's at that abandoned race track below. 1.3L

That must be so underpowered. We never suffered the 1.3 estate here in Mk4/5/Cortina80 flavour.

You could sell that plate to a lawyer for mega bucks too I bet....

Er....no.

Near where I live is the firm of Darryl Ingram & Co, which specialises in criminal law. The senior Partner runs around in a BMW with the plate "D1 LAW". As an advert for the firm, it's brilliant. As a personal plate, it's tacky.

A few weeks after my 17th birthday and thus into my driving career, Lotus introduced their new Elite.

And I've had a thing about them since.post-17481-0-84192800-1538777919_thumb.jpeg

Now, I've promised myself no more (miserable & rough) four cylinder engines and this now has a Rover V8........https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Lotus-elite-701-custom-V8-Barn-Find-swap-px-part-exchange-why/232934544166?hash=item363bfb1326:g:3ZMAAOSwFXRbozaH

Thing is though, I am old and lazy, and want auto and perfect.

What to do?

The car has been off the road for 10+ years.

The car was striped for restoration, a lot of the parts were kept in a dry garage however the shell was left outside.

That sounds like an eminently sensible thing to do with a bare Mini shell.

OH, NO! It wasn't!!

has a couple of minor dents

Ugh, that's put me right off. I hate bodywork.

Another indicator that my assessment of the 50s/60s more door saloon market is indeed correct.

This tidy '62 Series 60 De Ville Park Avenue (that means an abbreviated boot to make it city compliant, for those not in the know),

which is seriously rare no matter how you look at it (I really mean that and know what I'm talking about), can be had for under 8 bags for the first time in twenty years.

I'd hold out. It's gonna be sub 6k soon.

Mark my words. The bottom has dropped out of the big saloons market.

Which is good news if you're after a yank with more than two doors. Or a Jaaaag MK X. Or an Armstrong Siddeley, like I am.

All we have to do now is remain patient.

Mark my words again. European Baby Boom saloons will skyrocket. If you want one, buy it now.

The longer you wait, the more unobtainable they'll get.

Having said that, you will have to keep your excessive door count saloon for a good few years until you see a ROI.

So buy one now for shite's sake and leave the EU baby boom saloons to the hipsters.

Oh, wait...

We have it owned for approximately 7 years and have travelled all over Europe in it until the venerable old Flathead engine breathed it's last!

This has now been replaced with a 1998 VVTi Lexus 4 litre V8 and box from our own Lexus LS4000.

Most of the paint has been removed as can be seen in the photos.

I'm two milliseconds away from murder on impulse.
