1979 ALFA ROMEO ALFETTA 1.8 -     Why does there seem to be a load of South African imports all of a sudden? Or is it just I've woken up and noticed them?

that guy spinks has been importing cars for a good few years now and only half end up on ebay as he sells loads before they even arrive through his website and bragbook.

he goes by the name allen potts or carcave on the book of brag.

85000 MILES THE MILEOMETER STOPPED AT 56000 2 YEARS AGO AND HAS HARDLY BEEN USED SINCE

It's not a typo; since it stopped the odometer's hardly been used at all. The rest of the car's a different story though...

Looks American that other coupe in the Interceptor advert

I think that you are right.  Here's a Granada Coupe.  The heap in the Interceptor ad looks similar but different.

1987 tax exempt? It needs at least three things fucking off from the front of it, that's for sure.

I thought that all Pintos were hatchbacks, but I was wrong.

Good shout, I reckon.

I like the semi-shiter attitude of "car broken, just buy another car".

GT Cortina ? It certainly says so on the front wing.

Does come with pre-applied Cortina GT tax though !

Seriously though can anyone on here tell from the build info supplied ?

Those stripes look like they are off something else....And shouldn't it have a gauge pack?

I've been thinking and what the Rover 75 needs is another side stripe said no one ever. Well other than this guy.

Ok, Stuno, you listening? Mk2 Cortina data.

R rhd

N is 1600HC engine

A is floor change manual

A is 3.89/1 diff

trim code B980 refers to interior / seat colour and I don't have data on that right now

BA is Ford of Britain, Dagenham

Code 96 is factory model code for a 2-door GT. Yaaaaaay!!!!

GJ is a year/month date of manufacture code 1967 September

78910 is production car number.

Original paint code should be lower down the plate on the left.

Can post couple of Ford Mk2 i.d. reference sheets if Photobucket stops being a bastard tonight. Otherwise google it, easy to find these days.

So it's a factory 1600GT.

Suggest you alter that model-96 code to a 91 immediately and stick in a Lotus Twin Cam. Instant £25k. No one will know.
