Bentley Blower/Sherpley Speed 6 replica

Jayzerz wept, what a hopeless heap!

The First picture is of a finished car and is NOT FOR SALE.

What you get for £2,000 (two thousand!) is this pile of rubbish:

s-l1600.jpg

This is a Great opportunity

And now comes the really sad part:

This was Designed to be built on a Sherpa Pick up chassis and comes with a good sold running example

The Sherpa is running and was parked in storage about 18 months ago when the mot ran out but will start and run with a freshly charged battery.

You will have to cut off or disassemble the cab and pick up body all of which may be sold on to recover some of the costs as these too are becoming rare in this condition.

Ok, Stuno, you listening? Mk2 Cortina data.

R rhd

N is 1600HC engine

A is floor change manual

A is 3.89/1 diff

trim code B980 refers to seat colour, etc and I don't have data on that

BA is Ford of Britain, Dagenham

Paint code should be displayed lower down the id plate on the left

but . . . code 96 is for a 2-door GT. Yaaaaaay!!!!

GJ is a year/month date of manufacture code 1967 September

78910 is production car number.

Can post couple of Ford Mk2 i.d. reference sheets if Photobucket stops being a bastard tonight. Otherwise google it, easy to find these days.

Suggest you alter that 96 code to a 91 immediately and stick in a Lotus Twin Cam. Instant £25k. No one will know.

Did a bit of actual research (google type)

The code BA is for Dagenham plant.

EDIT.. should read before adding facts next time !

No probs, I edited my post as at first I wrongly thought the BA referred to paint code, BA is ermine white, but paint code is lower down the plate and we can't see it in the pic.

I can understand why nobody sells Junkman  a car......He seems to have tapped into a parallel universe of unrelenting but totally implausible shite!    Good work!

I think that I put this one up before a week or two back, but it may be worth another outing, if only because orange (even the tool roll is orange).  No one is bidding at 3500.  Is this too much?  I know nowt about these cars.  There is another 1976 orange one on sale at 6750.  OK, so not unique then.  "Ultimate Car... the Second"

Maybe the sentence

I have been as honest as I can

is the off putter?

Or is it just me, who reads this rather frequently used phrase as

"I have very little confidence in my honesty because I'm generally a shifty crook"?

All depends on condition BV. They have real rust problems with sills (doable but not cheap), boot floor (harder), floor pan (parts available at least!) and bulkhead (nightmare - this can simply write the car off) plus can and do rust almost everywhere else (rear window is a fave). From the pictures the vendor's stuck on eBay there's obviously a fair amount to do and you'll probably be looking at a good few thousand to get it to a decent standard, more if you need to respray it, even more if the rubber seals (not cheap) all need renewing

Basically, as a running project for £2k it might make sense, at twice that amount it's overly hopeful pricing.

I fail to see the attractiveness in them. For me they always were taxis, or the choice of the butcher who has made it.

Maybe I'll consider a six cylinder version after the last existing Rover P6 turned out to be too far gone to be fixed up

needs rebuilding the rear brakes.

The guy seems to have been trying to sell that for a while. I remember seeing it months ago with the same pictures although I think starting bid was £4k+ at that time.
