MY SON PAINTED CAR AND MESSED IT UP

I guess that's what happens when you let a three-year old loose with one of those tubs of Early Learning Centre paint and a pastry brush.

Still, no doubt the registration plate will lead to hours* of hillarious* pensioner jokes.

I have a huge want factor for an Austin Maxi (although admittedly not this one), with their Moulton suspension, radical* gearbox and the whole mobile double bed thing (although if you drive a Maxi a single would probably be adequate) they're oddly very appealing. That plus the way the Ford-esque nose, Austin 1800 doors and the I'm-not-a-hatchback-honest rear end completely fail to blend together.

I maintain that these are one of the crappest-looking cars of modern times even when they are a nice colour. But a 'McDonalds red' one looks the fuggin pits, like a flippin Chinese-market only jag copy built by the Hoo Flung Dung vehicle manufacturing concern ltd (using a 1500cc Toyota engine).

Not on Ebay but one I found myself and I thought it would go down well here. Maybe I should make a for sale thread for it? Last MOT expired in 2010, it was a pass but mentioned corrosion to the chassis/subframe not really a surprise but who knows what nightmares live within six years later. Apparently it had 20k in 2009 and 15K in 2006 but I don't know if these have a five or six digit odometer.

£500, PM me for contact details if your interested. The car is between Ayr and Dumfries, not too far from the A74(M). Someone ask me to go and have a better look at it for you so I can make an offer on his Mini Scamp, please.

Is that a Montego campervan behind it?

I think it's Maestro van/camper with a Montego front end.

Got the Honda in a Rover mojo but not a 600 wanabee? This is still available, winking at us from Gumtree this time.

I rather like it.

I'll get my coat.....

i'd normally advocate something that isn't resale silver or recession white, but that looks utterly dreadful

Well if you buy it pop in for a cup of tea as it's not far from me

If I buy that heap, I guess I'll rather need a pint, or fourteen.

But thanks anyway.

Ian that's a perfect* 600 replacement

If anyone on here buys that Midi, I have a service manual for it that I will happily send you free, gratis and for nothing.  Could also lend you a huge bucket of Isopon and several rolls of gaffer tape, but presumably you'll already have several.

It's a Midi, no need to get carried away.

Strewth. That Camry Estate ended today, at over £1500. It was admittedly a very nice example, and I'm assuming that there was no tomfoolery with the bidding.

Certainly beyond my means, but good motivation to get mine going again.

Early-ish Trabi for sensible (by today's standards) money.  Lack of paperwork could make life interesting though.

Classic 900 Turbo.  It needs a screen, the interior is fucked, and it's been stood on grass so is probably rotten, but it's £30.

The lad also has a floppytop R8 and a 626 coupé, both in similarly knackered condition.

Mk1 Astra.

Here is an opportunity to own a bit of history!  This car has competed very successfully in many car trials, Exeter, Lands End and Edinburgh.  Has won gold many times

Pretty sure I've never seen house air vents used as bonnet scoops before.
