I kind of agree with you but a navy blue Morris Ital Estate was part of my childhood so I do have a bit of a soft spot for them

Same except ours was white.

The want is very strong even though I don't disagree with @sheffcortinacentre's summation

A prime example of the old BL habit of replacing a best selling model with something worse in pretty much every conceivable way

Ford did the same when they introduced the Sierra.

I do remember Hillman Hunters being decent steers for rallyists back in the day.   I think it was because they were incredibly light due to them being made out of fag paper thin metal.  Second only to Zastavas in being dentable by a small child, wearing mittens.

I bought a new a Proton Wira in 2001, the day after I bought it I noticed a dent in one of the passenger doors, which I think was caused by someone riding a bike into it😡

Not everyone's cuppa I know though subtle drop in altitude would help a lot there.

It's a great colour combination. Seat covers suit it too.

My Dad cried.  He'd owned mk1,2,3,4 and Series 80 (mk5) cortinas. (All estates apart from mk3)

Then went on to own 3 sierras (2 estates) and a cried again when they introduced the mondeo.

He then had 1 mondeo and 3 focus (all estates)
