Absolute bargain despite the issues.

I could maybe swing it with t'missus if it was an estate but if I brought that home on a trailer I'd have to sleep in it for a few months and it is the wrong time of year to try that again ;-)

Yup. A friend spent £18k 6 years ago having a 1990 Mini restored. Since then, It’s been garaged, done minimal dry only miles etc, and it already needs another scuttle panel.

This one will be rotten.

If its lived inside and been mainly used in the dry and the scuttle has rusted through in 6 years then it wasn't done properly and was probably just troweled full of filler over rust.

I restored a 1962 AH Sprite in 2001 and that has been inside since, done over 10K miles including in torrential rain including ending up full of water at one point, not been used since 2013 and there isn't a spot of rust on it.

Yes I saw that, I was inferring that there should be plenty of glass available from scrap cars.

Holy crap, that is legendary.

There's nearly a hundred photos so we can all appreciate the "faithful proportions and dimensions"!

I think his metalwork teacher would probably mark it 5/10 a good first effort.

It’s a proper Frankenstein monster. you can sort of see what they wanted to do but you can still see the bolts and stiches and the proportions are odd.

What an abortion

Probably rather than start with a 2 door saloon they should have based it on the hatch.
