1984 Leyland Double Decker Bus - Picture 1 of 10

1984 Leyland Double Decker Bus | eBay

£3,395.

Know sod all about buses, but it looks like it might be best having the George Clarke treatment and being shoved in a field in Shropshire as a B&B.

No i was trying to be kind. And that's from someone who's not adverse to both lowering or changing wheels.

To each their own hey.

They're really quite compelling aren't they. Can't take my eyes off them.

So bad they've come out the other side back into fuck yeah.

Nope. So bad they’ve gone out the other side of the other side and are well into  fuck no again. 🤣

The six cylinder Land-Rovers genuinely sound fucking glorious.

Thirsty though, very thirsty.

P4 engine presumably?

Fun fact - the engine from these will fit straight onto a Honda Express I or II making it capable of over 30mph

I had one identical to that many years ago.  Top speed was 37 if memory serves.  It did climb hills a bit better than a 50 though.

Pretty much. The 2.6 litre ioe engine from the P4, but detuned slightly, about 90 bhp. Mind you, America got the full-fat 124 bhp Weslake head version very similar to the last P4 110. My mate Mark had a 3-litre Rover lump out of a P5 in one of his, which was a proper tool.

One of mine is driving one

I only drove one once but it was for 3 hours at a 4x4 centre , all off road. It was pretty capable although I would imagine the diesel would ge pretty tedious on the road.

I had a 109 station wagon that was fitted with the 2.6 6-cyl and it went OK. Later we fitted a 3.5 V8 ('cos everybody was raving about them) from a dead SD1 and, frankly, there was not much difference, other than noise level. A tuned up 6-cyl was easier to work on too.
Jet-1 is the Rover that I'd like https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rover_JET1
