had check this one and its washington state - many rain many snow

and mr magoo parking looking at the back of it (how much for screen m9? @PhilA )

*WOULD STILL USE AS RENTAL/BEATER

These ones were shit. Crappy chassis, crappy build quality, crappy everything

The one that replaced it (your white Dacia variant above) was significantly better. Redesigned chassis that doesn't flex when you look at it, much better interior, decent engine and significantly better QC. That was the point that Chevy woke up and smelled the coffee and started making a decent vehicle.

@PhilA remind me what paper tag means please

Temporary dealer paperwork. Similar to only having the bit of the V5 you hang on to before sending the other bit to the DVLA.

Generally means you gotta wait for the DMV to send the new document before it can be re-transferred.

The interior of that Maxi brings back incredibly fond memories of mine and @garycox's old Allegro. Such comfort! Such Paprika! Looks lovely, that does. The sort of 'nice old car' I should own really, aged 34, instead of lots of broken but theoretically more valuable/unusual things I can't actually use.

That Metro is fantastic. Even still got its Metric tyres!!!! Beautiful.

This looks a steal if it wasn’t  the other end of country from me and even then I might even of contemplating buying it if I could of limped it back home but I think a 500 mile round journey and a non runner is pushing it to far to make out I’m only going to the local Tesco for a pint of milk lol

I wouldn’t mind I only want it for the bumper as the rear bumper on mine has slight lacquer peel so it’s a bit extreme to buy a car for a bumper when it would only cost me about £80 to sort it but you can never have enough E36s in my book lol

Looks like value to me. Tosser. ??

There is a reason they're very rare - because they were shit.

For the same price you could have the Capri in his other listing.

This honest old lhd Firenza looks absolutely bob-on! I'm sure it would be an utterly miserable driving experience, but I reckon these are among the best looking British cars of the era straight out the box.

Sadly, this photograph is quite a threat as to its potential fate

Surely only a total philistine would go down that path, but old Vauxhalls aren't far behind old Fords in the knucklehead demographic stakes. Shame.

I'm trying very hard to make sense of this one.

£8k - let's say £6k after negotiation - doesn't seem too bad for the best-looking, most sophisticated car ever built considering all the chrome has been done and it 'just needs' painting and re-assembling. it wouldn't be a huge investment to get this in a state where it could be painted but then, what, £8000 minimum for a half-decent paint job, and then the cost of getting it all back together again - You're in for the best part of £20k and at the end of it it will still have a stupid hole in the roof.

Somehow that doesn't seem very canny when you could pop down to Hampshire and pick up this straight, un-messed with example - albeit with a shit interior - for, what, £12,500? £12,000? That's about on the money for one in decent condition, although prices for minters are slowly going up. Still blows my mind that such a 'special' car could be so cheap. My 404 is worth more than that, and it needs loads of work and is fitted with one of the least engaging engines ever built. Nuts.

My benchmark for these is still the "garage find" example my mate's neighbour picked up for £350 in 2001...
