86,000 miles, more BMW premium build quality

It depends whether the previous owner ever bothered to check the oil level.

...and when I had one as a company car it used to chomp through its oil like Fatty Arbuckle at a Pizza Hut buffet (more BMW premium build quality).

Hateful things.

I'd love a Mk2 Escort, y'now, something like an RS1800 but they're well out of my price range now.  How about an Avenger, was it the Tiger that was the sporty one?

If only I could get an Avenger with racing stripes on it for not much money now.

I also live in Alvaston, full time for me though, I can't escape, two mins at the back of the lodge grill pub.

If anyone wants me to view and report back, my Digs Monday to Friday are in Alvaston Derby.  If it were £299, I'd buy it.

Bloody hell.  I grew up in Alvaston.  I now live near Loughborough which isn't that far away.  Trivia/name dropping - my mate from round the corner when we were kids is now internationally famous bass guitarist Tony Franklin who used to play with Jimmy Page in the The Firm and tweeted a video of him playing Running Up that Hill with Kate Bush and David Gilmour only today.  My other mate from school was Paul Bayliss who is a local councillor and was leader of Derby City Council.  I haven't seen either of them for years.

I realise that the Autoshite way of having an electric car is a 1964 milkfloat, but this must run it a close second in terms of shite.

What a brilliantly funky looking little thing. Can anything with a RACE mode be shite though?

Some decent old chod at the forthcoming Brightwells 'modern classics' (eugh) sale, though as usual with third-rate auction houses like this the estimates are all over the place and most of the entries are pure filler (in both senses). I'm going to try and get the ex-Stondon Astra as it is the near spit of the one I grew up with which formed most of my early motoring memories, so please nobody else bid on that

I have no idea what you are missing, looks like a bargain to me. It's an 'S' as well (Turbo r without the turbo) and it looks nice. Might be one of the earlier ones without active ride which does make it less desirable, but active ride is fooking expensive when it goes wrong.... If it wasn't so far away, I'd have a look at that 'cos I like the colour!

That mk1 Espace looks like a bit of a BARG, and also eleventy times tidier than mine despite the 212k.

If circumstances were different I'd be tempted to buy it as well.... Go for mouseflkes, mk1 Espaces are ace.

You're really not helping.

Actually, this listing is all a bit weird. The photos and a lot of the text (even down to having done 190 mile trip last Friday) are from an older listing in Warwickshire. And when I look at that expired listing, it now shows a car in a different colour (but pretty much the same interior photos).

Anytime mate, I thought you might prefer something closer and tidier ;)

It does look nice in that colour, and the seats are made of Flumps*

Shit, look at this! Another Sunny LePrix Turbo!

This one's even a manual unlike the last one, which was an auto. Also seems to have a full set of alloys trimz:

But the Cherry (ha ha) on the cake is the Fozzie Bear interior. Behold!

It's also quite local, should anyone be interested.......

Scruffy but apparently solid O-series-engined Sherpa.

That Sherpa is fantastic. Someone needs to get on that and enhance their life.
