I’ll need to check it over at some point. Meanwhile it’s just doing what it does. AN CAR.

Seems to be the station beater of choice. Other people own an entire car just to go to the station and back too right?

A "station car" is very bourgeoise.

He's Mair beef bourguignon than bourgeoise..

I could never work out the grumble, wheel bearing was my initial thought, but both rears rotated nicely with no scratchiness and there didn't seem to be any play either.

I had a look at the rear drums and they were all present and correct. It done it the whole time I owned it as far as I can remember and didn't get any worse.

Anyone got any tips for sorting out a leaky back end on one of these? Guess it’s the light seals.

Bit damp in the boot and the windscreen steams up a lot!

The high level brake light can do this, I sealed my blue one up.

The lights are easy to remove, there are also vents under the rear bumper which could let in water.

Anyone fancy this? I am mightily tempted by PBK’s HUNDAAAAYYY.

750 quid I paid for it and it has not awful wheel trims now plus a remote central locking kit waiting to go on

If Alan_Green doesn't want it I'll ask the apprentice from work if he does....

Good car, would recommend.

Will not have a bad word said against my wheel trims.

Keep us posted, I've got a hankering for something small and cheap to run as a beater for work. 20mpg is getting tiresome for daily driving :D

Bump.  This is available for the traditional £750.  Year's MOT.   £20 Road tax.  Grumble problem solved.  Key/lock problem solved.  Reversing sensors fitted.  Serviced.  Proper sale thread tomorrow as I've left my laptop at the office.  Location - Fleet services, M3 motorway, GU51.  Will help with logistics.  Replacing it with a 5 door C1.

What was the grumbling noise after all?

I would add here that Alan_Green is a trusted shite hero who checked out my 206 GTI this time last year after I won it on eBay, and facilitated collection and Fluffyballs delivery services.

Can confirm this was a really good little car. It's the best colour they came in and there's a lot to be said for the basic trim level. Has everything you need and nothing that you don't. You won't get any cheaper running costs and being 90% smol Toyota they're pretty much unburstable.

Sounds like Alan has improved it too. Can't go wrong really.

Still can't believe Kiltox binned my fetching black wheel trims though.

I can, I wouldn't want that kind of thing anywhere near me.

I may have mentioned earlier in this thread but I'll reiterate, these are great cars, Mrs Spart had one that we sold to no lesser forum member than @theshadow for his own use, thats got to be high praise! It had done about 180'000 miles and was still going strong.

I think they’re still cluttering my unit if you can’t live without them

A selfless proposition, but they're rightfully yours.

The backplate was rusty and grumbled against the drum but only on hard corners where the body flexed enough to cause A to rub against B.  It was stripped down and rust removed  and hey Presto, no more rumbling.   Proper sale thread shortly.  Got a hectic few days ahead.
