Arghh!

How do I get the img code from a Photobucket picture on my iPhone please? Tried all kinds and when I get what seems to be the code it doesn't show the picture on a forum.

Cheers in advance.

Haha! He said "iPhone"!.

Sorry mate, no idea. It probably involves going to the Apple Store and handing over your wallet and a kidney.

Can you copy the image link details and then manually type the image tags ([/img...etc] ) around it?

after trolling in line with the mongs at tesco... which they have rearranged the whole fuggin store so took me double the time to find stuff

i had £25 in my pocket so as i already had a 1/2 a tank of diesel i thought i would top it up using said money... but at £4.22 i realised like a complete arse that i was giving the van unleaded

i know diesel in a petrol isn't good, but is it any different the other way... and with already a 1/2 tank of diesel in the van will that cancel out the unleaded?

it got me home no problem, but just wondering if i have to get the fuggin thing flushed out or will i have had a lucky escape?

I'm no expert but I'd say It depends on the engine as to whether the petrol will harm it .... When I put veg oil in my vw diesel I add 5-10% petrol to thin it.

Personally I'd be tempted to fill the tank with diesel to dilute the petrol content.

Hopefully someone with more knowledge on this can give a better answer.

Old school diesel will be fine, the owner's handbook might even tell you to add some petrol in cold conditions to prevent waxing.

Common rail diesels are a different matter though, if it's one of those you should get it out ASAP.

In the 70 litre diesel tank on my Iveco, I've put 5 litres of petrol in before when I've been to Poland and Belarus in the winter. Mine is an old design 2.8 mechanical pump type engine. Not sure how a common rail diesel would react though :?

£4.22 of petrol will be about 3-3.5 litres? So 5% petrol in a 70-litre tank of diesel? The viscosity and lubricating properties of the diesel should not be too badly affected - I'd risk it personally.

Fill it to the NECK with diesel. As others have said, it'll be grand.

This is more of a stupid owner rather then a stupid question but I just bought a bottle of Castrol Valvemaster and was tipping a bit into the tank of the Cortina when the plastic ring that the bottle tops attaches to fell of the spout and straight into the tank...

So the question is will this damage the car in any way?, I don't really want to drop the tank to try and get it out, I might try and hook it out with a bit of wire but i suspect I'd have more luck catching Nessy with a polo mint on the end of a jump lead then that working.

Any ideas?.

Try leaving the bottle top in a jar of petrol to see if it gets dissolved. If it doesn't the ring will just stay in the tank as it wont fit down the tube to the carb. If it does dissolve just keep the tank topped up and the problem will go away with time.

Posted

plastic ring won't damage anything, it'll probably still be sifting around for a couple of decades. If it dissolves over time, I doubt it'll do any harm.

Posted

That's kinda what i was thinking, I doubt it will dissolve because the contents is petrol based i think? and the fuel pipes are low and small besides I don't run it low anyway.

I bet loads of people have done the same thing, crappy design. :(

One of the plastic door trim strips has started peeling off - fortunately no rust, just plastic to painted metal. What's a good glue for re-attaching it?
