Motobility conversions in Salford did lots for the car scheme. I had a hankering for a 3 pedal when I had my knee done last time.

Sounds like one of those disabled conversions with a left foot accelerator. They fitted one to something on Car SOS recently.

Maybe it's like a creeper pedal on a forklift.

Press it a little bit, and it disengages drive. Press it further and it engages the brakes. This is alongside a normal brake pedal... on a vehicle with a torque converter!

Should have two...unless it's something with a foot operated parking brake like old Mercs, Rollers and a bunch of American cars...

My dad used to have an auto Civic with two throttle pedals, one either side of the brake. The one you weren't using folded away upwards, and when you folded one up the other one dropped down.

I'm going to cheat, I had a Scania 3 pedal auto. You only used it or moving off and when you come to a full stop.

The new Nissan Leaf can be driven with one pedal.

Dodgems have been like that for years.

Becomes familiar very quickly.

And tiresome not long afterwards? Preserving momentum is made difficult by having to have the loud pedal in /exactly/ the right place.

sounds like ghosty could be on right track,as brake pedal is fixed on bar,the others are just bolt ons, both flip up etc

Three pedals on my Mercedes W124 Auto is fine, but having a foot operated parking brake on a manual like my Citroen DS is a pain.

Motability left-foot throttle conversion. Quite fun to master. Rapidly teaches you to have an analogue left foot

A bit like riding a motorbike then! Am sure many of us will also know it's possible-ish to ride one without even using the clutch either  8)

Motorbike clutches aren't needed from 2nd gear upwards, whichever way you're going through the box.

Citroen XM - accelerator, brake and handbrake foot pedal ok in an auto - my manual has 4 pedals...suitable for an octopus.

I'm very swiftly becoming a massive Merc fan. One of the things I like is how they change things very, very slowly - my wife and I would both be able to jump into that and drive it straight away, the controls are all in the same places as our modern(ish) ones.

Have you bought this? My nephew has recently lost his motability car, and needs a left foot throttle. He's got his head in the clouds a bit over what he wants/can afford, but this could be a decent stopgap for him.

They are such a half-arsed pile of wank, only surpassed in wank terms by the (unin)Telligent shift Mercs.

If it's anything like a brand new Peugeot 405 1.9GR automatic which was delivered to my dealership in 1989, it will have three, a loose clutch pedal flopping around on the left.  Peugeot's quality control wasn't great in those days.

I have a cusomer with no use of his right leg, we made a thing up, must be 20 yrs ago to sort the problem, we move it for him every time he changes car, just taken it from a corsa and put it in a new citroen. Bots to the floor and It just drops to the floor when not in use, its so simple but works... see my great drawing below  :)
