Bramz ever changing fleet merry go round.

Having been using this daily for the last few days I now get why people with 305s either keep them for ages or get another one, it's really great to drive.

I think I'm going to have to admit defeat with attempting to get the roffle win 405 back here. If anyone wants it, I'll not want much for it, rather someone tried to save it than break it but it wouldn't be up to me.

I would have taken it whilst it was still tested, but a pain in the arse now it's run out as I've nowhere to keep it whole and only really want it to keep my own alive (i.e. stripped)

405 stored with someone I know in Brum. Looking forward to eventually getting it back. A few nice memories in that car.

However I accidentally sold my E46 today.

Accidentally, how? Well I didn't anticipate someone wanting it quite as much as the chap who messaged me about it on Marketplace. He even gave me £50 more than asking price and turned up when he said. He was also fucking massive, in height and stature.

I'm now without a daily. I sort of have a new one lined up, but to ease my FOMO, does anyone have a nice decent thing for £500-700 they want shifting? Also happy to pay less....

TIA

Saab 9-3 Convertible (Noobtuned). Purchased off here a couple of months back (ex £95 Peugeot, ex tetley), but not used it at all. (Less than 30 miles - still got the petrol it came with)

Have not advertised it on here yet as was planning on getting rid of the RX8 first.

If the car I'm eyeing up comes off you can buy the wife's MK4 GTi 20vt bramz. Only worth about £400 but if your offering 700....?

Also that 305 is gorgeous. Please add me to the dibs list (pos#64 I'd imagine by now)

Got this yesterday. A bit battered but solid and I think it's running a tuning box. Still one of the cheapest Xantias I've got.

Collection time. Didn't really need to buy this but life's too short for regret at this stage.

Added jeopardy, I've been awake for 24 hours, just did a night shift (sat spare) at work and got the earliest train to Waterloo. Unventful so far.

Sadly my train now is a Great* Northern service. Seats like gravestones.

How different is a 146 to drive from a Tipo / Tempra?

Seems more Alfa-y overall, by which I mean slightly more assured handling and grip, no doubt helped by the decent Michelin tyres. Oddly it smells the same as my old 156. Same notchy/stiffish gearchange, same feeling of the pedals being oddly angled...typical Italian.

70 is approaching 3600 revs, but the car doesn't feel laboured and is happy to give plenty more to overtake, although I didn't take it near the redline today.

Rear passenger door has paint issues, which I will hopefully sort out if I keep it. Drivers seat may need replacement as it's collapsed, previous owner wasn't huge or fat so I guess that's just another Fiat group thing.

It's done 80k, has a years ticket, Alfa specialist service history, cambelt done 16k ago, clutch and brakes feel good, in fact it made a nice change to have actual working brakes in an Italian car.

It's a late spec 1.4 T spark, Irish import. Seems to have the sports pack which was side skirts, alloys, leather wheel and gearknob, rear wing (which needs reattaching) amongst other bits.

Always a slight lottery at this end of the market but I'm very pleased so far.

Valeted up I bet that would look stunning...

I know a good paint guy down towards you if you ever do think of having the door done.

Do 145 seats fit these? Stupid question presumably....

Nah, usually just four.

Possibly, but I've never had one or tried.

My guess comes from the previous owner of my 155 fitting 145 seats in to it.

Some tweaking has occured:

When the previous owner mentioned the rear wing had been taken off, I assumed it was broken or something, but it's fine. All bolts and nuts in place too. Really easy to do, no fidgety bits and no finger shredding occured. Probably broke a clip on the boot trim but meh.

Next up, new wiper blades and badges, and maybe a green 145 interior I've found on eBay.

I know several people who would suit that number plate.

Nah I might keep that on. I also got proper roof bars with it, which I'm tempted to put on for that proper alpine look.

Looks nice this, I didn't know there was a 1.4 twin spark motor. Wonder how it compares to a 1.4 16v K series?

Posted

It has around 103hp, top quoted speed is 116 or so. I've not had a K series of any shape or form so I've no clue how that compares. It really comes alive above 3k revs, but doesn't seem overly thirsty.

1.4 TS lump in a retro Alfa = cheap tax = Double win!  Nice find! (scurries off to Irish car sales sites ?)

The 145 & 146`s have the same floorpan, so the fronts should fit (possibly the rear, I can't remember).

Also same floorpan as the Tipo/Tempra/155/Brava/Bravo/Barchetta/Coupe, so in theory any of the front seats from those should fit too*
*possibly.. Check!
