Not a very exciting collection as I'm only half an hour or so from FOAD's unit.

The weather is stinking today so there wasn't much hanging about but it was nice to meet FOAD, lady FOAD and Nisfan(?).

It has also been christened 'the 48p Rover'. The ticket was £2.50(although I did buy four) and me and my friend found some change dotted about the interior. I haven't included the half bottle of ginger in the back in that tally though.

A few photos below. Apologies for the terrible pez picture. It actually had plenty to get me home.

The car. The history folder is really impressive. The car drives very nicely. The exhaust blow is a bit annoying and there is a wheel wobble about 50-55mph but I haven't checked the tyre pressures yet.

The MoT is up on December 10th. The cracked windscreen may condemn the car. I can't see any reason for it to fail on much else. It stops, steers and goes fine.

I might wash it and blow in the rust/filler with some kurust and generic white.

What next? I'm not planning on keeping the car. I suppose it is pretty much up for sale straight away. Make me an offer. I've no problem storing the car up until Xmas but keep in mind it will be out of MoT by then.

I don't want my title as the 13th owner being a bad omen!

My Dad took it out for a drive earlier and enjoyed it. He previously had a 214Si(H434RWA) and a 214SEi(N183UMS). He commented he on the nice driving position and good all round vision that you don't get with modern cars.

 

I've updated the title to roffle or sale. £2 a ticket or £100 buy it now. All funds raised will go to the Beatson cancer hospital in Glasgow(it provides cancer care for a large chunk of Scotland though).

 

In short:

MoT until December 10th

Runs, drives, stops and steers nice enough.

Crack in the windscreen within the sweep of the wipers.

Blow from the exhaust.

 

I'm in Falkirk, in between Glasgow and Edinburgh. I can collect you from airports or train stations.
