Unfortunately I am going to have to sell my lovely Monaco Blue 172. I am gutted to have to let this go.

MOT July 2019. The advisory for the sill is just a bent jacking point. I have protected it now.

92000 miles

Belts, dephaser, aux belt and tensioner done in October 2017 together with a head rebuild including 16 new valves at MVR with receipts.

New clutch March 2017 with receipt.

New back discs, pads, calipers, carriers and handbrake cables July 2018

Coilovers (brand unknown)

Ktec KTM 182 look exhaust

Bodywork is decent, scratch on the bonnet and a small ding in the rear quarter

Interior is in excellent condition.

Wheels are ok condition, not the best though.

Goes brilliantly, pulls hard and no crunches from the gearbox.

Located in Bonnybridge, Central Scotland.

Happy to chat about it but please, only contact me if you are genuinely interested, have the cash and are in a position to buy.

Rounded to the nearest whole pound, it's £27 a ticket, I'll chance a random at that...

It also adds up to the same cc as a 1.6 litre Pinto.

I'll just get me coat...!

I can vouch for this as a goodun!- it goes well and sounds the tits

Been awfully close to buying a 182/172 a few times. Probably the last of the proper French hot hatches before jelly mould cars became the norm and hot was just a trim spec.

Very fair price too, these never really got super cheap and - as far as I can see - they are actually starting to go up in value again now.

Looks lovely - even if I'd want to put it to normal/stock suspension height!

These are at what 205 GTi's were like about 5 years ago. Except they rust less. Instead the water fritz them out if not looked after and then get scrapped instead!

I have been wanting one for years and noticed that prices are now on the up. I regret not getting a working and long MOT'd one that was on around the corner for £450 around 2 years ago. Unfortantly with an impending house sale and move (once I find somewhere...) there is no way I can justify getting one right now. :(

Beautiful. A guy I worked with had a 182 and it’s ability to wheelspin in 4th gear was something that amused me immeasurably.

This is a great buy at the price. So many are on belt roulette because of the expense of doing a proper job on it. This makes me wish I was 25 again but, I think at my age, I’d probably look quite absurd.

My youngest thought I was pathetic when I had mine earlier this year.

She thought the car was ridiculous but thought it would be fine if it was driven by someone younger, mainly her or her sister!

Some of these are reasons that I haven't contacted :(

If I had etc...

I can imagine you’ll get some right barrys if you put this on eBay or Bumtree. Have you tried Autotrader?

Damn it, I am 25....this is not helping my “slimming down the fleet” initiative.

I got to 45 before I had the joy of owning one of these eager little cars.

It is only small as well so it is like only part of a car!

I don't care if people say I'm too old for mine. It's fun. And it's quite sensible, having five seats and a decent boot.

Verdict: 172s are for winners.

Must not forget that 45 mpg on a run is easily achieved.

Kicking the arse out of it can still return mid 30's.

That must make it the sensible choice. (No need for any * )

Who gives a shit what anyone else might think? Tint the windows if you’re worried about being seen in it. I loved my old 172, it was guaranteed to put a smile on my face every time i drove it. I was 37 when I bought it, 3.5 years ago

I’m seriously quite tempted by this - don’t suppose swaps are on the table at all?

I showed daughter No.2 as I know she wants a blue one, however even though Monaco is a great colour, she only wants Racing Blue! GLWTS.

I have made a last ditch attempt to sort something out to stop me from losing this car, I shall report back later as to whether or not that was successful.

Should a sale still be required after all, as I said in the original advert its cash only, and in hand.

Best of luck there's so many shagged examples knocking about it'd be a shame for you to have to part with a good one. Hope it works out

Oops - realised i hit 2 of your 3 criteria - genuinely interested - have cash in hand - but SWMBO says one has to go before another comes in - d’oh!

Fingers crossed you work something and can keep it.

Looks like I have worked something out as plan a and if not plan B is that Fatha_Pin is having it with me still on the insurance. He loves the car. He's 70.
