Decided that because I have the new battery, I should give it a run.

 

20 miles or so. Going through the first village a young family... The dad said something and pointed, the two daughters looked and then the three turned their heads as I went past. The wife was having none of it and he could have been slagging me off, but that's what an Alessi is all about.

Because the 4x4 is at the Renault lorry garage. I had to dump the car at work for 3 days.

I used the jet wash to get the dusty shit off. One of our Polish guys "This is crazy... Is it four wheel drive?"

No, but I have one. He then saw I missed a hit and jet washed the sill.

....

 

4x4 still at Renault.... So I took it to asda and was waiting. All I heard was "Oh my God." As a middle aged couple walked by. Not sure it was a good OMG, but I'll take it anyway.

My mother has an orange Mamy and a lot of the paintwork on hers has gone like this, it is very low mileage but always left outside. They seem to suffer badly with lacquer peel. We have a metallic blue one four years older and the paint is still good, this also lives outside.

Charged the battery at work and... Needs a handbrake ratchet. It's been broken for years and I leave in gear. You used to be able to get one click for a pass. 😢

The ratchet arrived at the garage on Friday, but they haven't rang me yet. I've also mentioned to them my gammy clutch pedal. I fitted a clutch master cylinder a few years back and there's no boot. 

 

So I grease it and it's beautiful, but you use it and it forces the grease away and it sticks like a bastard in first. It's a common fault for all 500's/Panda.

So, we've done 25 miles since last year.

 

MOT was today, so on Saturday I used an amazon temu battery charger to charge it.

 

Last night, after getting home from work. Lobbed the battery on and she purred like an E-Type.

The tyres were a bit soft and I had to use my mighty legs to rock the car of its brakes. I drove it 5 miles on an A-Road and went to a car wash. Every panel has bare metal, but it's galvanised so. 🤷‍♂️

I took the wheel trims off and one wheel was warm and one cold, that plus the rusty as fuck discs and they've been an advisory for a year.

 

The results are in...

Not too bad, collecting it tomorrow and nearby was this rather dashing Transporter.

Afraid this is a pretty rubbish post without photos but I'm in Turin at the moment and I saw a green one - which made me sad as it was on whatever the Italian equivalent of Halfords wheel trims is.

Ever since I fitted the clutch master and slave years ago, I've had a shit pedal. 

If I grease the piston it lasts a while... Turns out you just remove the cap and pack the cunt with grease.

 

I now have a clutch pedal that won't stall me at lights...

Fantastic. Ive only ever seen an orange one in passing and had no idea about the interiors. Of course i now want an orange or green interior for our yellow 169. Or maybe a mix of both like some sort of acid party battenberg.
