Mismatched panel colour thread.

This is me. Been like this since i got rear ended in December and I fixed it with junkyard parts. Original plan was to get it painted and replace the cracked rear lights but the combined cost would be more than the car is worth so now I just ignore it which works fine for me.

Form over fashion, paint dont make you great, multicoloured parts break all the ladies hearts.

As the old sayings go.

You need a barrier colour to seperate the silver and green really. A pair of wings in red or white would really help I think.

That ovloV looks just fine with the off-colour boot, but what the merry hell is that oversized B10M badge doing on there?

I'd love to think that somewhere out there to restore the balance of the universe is a negative Council Estate, a blue Volvo with a gold tailgate. The 405 estate looks good with the chin spoiler, Junkman should disregard his own advice and Do Paint and then it would look rather spiffing like some sort of fancy special edition.

Going to miss this little trooper too when it goes to its new home. This is one of my favourite pictures of it post-welding.

Thats the first picture I showed people at work when they jokingly ask if I've bought anymore cars yet.

Incidentally that question started as a joke. However my answer of "Yes!" is becoming alarmingly more common.

It's not an oversized B10M badge - that's the size they are when you stick them to the tailgate of a 740 estate.

I had a bag of about 15 of those badges and they landed more or less as we disposed of our last manual B10Ms so they were never fitted.

It means CMS can shovel 54 unruly teenagers into the back and do an extra school run each day. Authorities are none the wiser.

Most of my repair panels are from different cars.  Will be painted eventually.

I agree, the saloon bumper looks much better than the estate one.

The B10M Volvo is like a supersize Lancia Y10.

This looked all right when i compared it at the yard.  It was only when i got it on that I realized i am colour blind.

No pics I'm afraid but I'd  owned the Porsche 944 some months before I noticed half the panels were metallic black and half flat black. The shade match is good, i'll just have sell it on a overcast day!

Spooky! I saw the opposite of that today in Aberdeen. It was a silver Micra with the front wings and front bumper in purple!

Was behind a Picasso earlier that was three colours, obviously been smacked up the rear and the side. Lovely

I do have a spare maroon XJ wing in my garage... But I don't want to chip the original cobalt blue paint off the virgin bolts that have never* been removed before!

*I have no evidence to support this.

My previous 190, in its temporary post accident panels. Granted theres not a lot of difference between the bornite wing and the rest of the car...
