Went for a 10 meter walk and had a half cup of weak black tea.

Was ambulanced into hospital last mon night. 6 hours of emergency surgery Tuesday morn. Rest of Tuesday to Friday in intensive care. Been in high dependency ward since then.

I am indescribably happy with a walk and a cuppa.

I found mayo in the dipstick tube on my V70

Ooooh Nooo thought I.

After a bit of scanning around on the Volvo forums, it turns out this is a common problem caused by a worn o ring on the dipstick.

So, one of the fitters at work gave me a few o rings to try. They were much thinner that the original and I wasn't hopeful.

On Friday, I put two of them in the space vacated by the old o ring.

I checked it today. NO MAYO.

Me is grinning.

The ice cream van that drives around has been commandeered by the local crowne plaza and is giving away free ice creams!

Happy now!

Not sure whether this will end up in the grump thread, but at the moment I feel that I'm winning. I'm expecting a parcel, unfortunately it has been sent using Yodel. Following it on tracking, it should have been delivered yesterday, when I was around, it wasn't. Today the tracking says delivery failed and returned to the depot. Strangely there is no card, I tried to use their automated system to rearrange delivery, but kept being spit out of the system. I tried to find a number for their Llanelli "Service" Centre. (All I found were reviews saying how useless they are.) Eventually found a main 0800 number for Yodel, still automated and still spat me out.

I then had a brainwave, sometimes the silent treatment works with these and you get put through to a human (it doesn't with this one) but this time I tried the opposite and every time it asked a question I just held the five key down continuously on my touchtone phone (so it just got one long noise) until it got fed up asking the question and put me through to a person.

The person has agreed to rearrange delivery for tomorrow to my work, let's see if they do. I shall have to warn the man on the gate as it's a human skeleton and stand; hopefully they have wrapped it well.

(just in case anyone is worried, the skeleton is a modern medical replica, it's nobody I know)

Just watched a few Hope for Paws clips on that 'UTube' thing. Made me smile generally and laugh out loud like an idiot at a rescued poodles antics. Fabulous stuff.

National Lottery announces 49 balls to become 59 balls.

CMS_TOWERS breathes a collective sigh of relief at it being more harderer to win raffles.

^^Just means that another 10 of us can put your name on the balls

Dunno about that Andy , I'm tempted to buy you a ticket for the 305 !

Only just to hear the word "bollocks" shouted so loudly in a scotch accent again

It was Volksy.  He was out polishing his Jag the other day so I reckon he must be on the mend.

I uploaded it to Faceache. Which may have been a mistake as I don't think I can share it from there (not set to public and I'd rather not have that on my public profile, as amusing as it is!). Hmmm.

Had to go into town this morning. I walked around a corner to be greeted by the sight of a leyland/LDV Daf cab standing out from the usual. I walked past and spotted It was badged "DAF V8" and was definitely  sounding v8ey and had a truck deck for the rear half. No camera though.

I have spent 4 hours today washing, claying and polishing a corsa C, it's mrs fp's mums she never washes it, the paint was like braille, it's silky smooth now, she just needs a decent set of OE trims on it.

Next time CMS sees a cheap car he actually wants we should all pay for it for him and call it a raffle as a cover-up.

brake lights now working on the XJ-R, yipee!!

jump in, turn on and foot brake on, park switch comes off and the lights work, when needed!!

so, a fleet update-

Jaguar XJ-R no longer broken

Rover 75 still broke, think the slave cylinder is on its way out, the clutch still works but i wouldn't trust it to take me to the shops and make it back...

Metro still a-ok and

Mini still stuck in its garage

happy days....

even if i need to use SWMBO gay little jeep for work.

be another 10 days-fortnight before the rover gets put right, as the clutch expert is away on holidays.....

bollocks......
