Got in the car halfway through daytime-Radio 1 (yeah, I can understand a lot of you have stopped reading already :-P) playing a song called Cat D by an up and coming artist called George The Poet. And yes, he compares screwed up relationships to wrecked cars.

Have a listen

EDIT - Can someone remind me of the correct code to embed please? ta

His followup will be a song about having a fumble in the glovebox for a murray mint, or perhaps getting found out hiring a newer car for the weekend and when he gets home his old car has been hiabbed and is living in a banger racers driveway.

Obviously something more interesting than me, I get Tesco F&F .

The 'mature dating' ad is targetted at people with a pulse.  There's fuck all reason I'd get it based on my browser history but I do... or did before I saw the light and installed AdBlocker.

I found a tenner in Sainsburys. I picked it up and handed it in, the lady on customer services looked at me like I was crazy.

I've been on the receiving end and I was well chuffed, i dropped £20 and a bloke picked it up and came chasing me to give it me back, proper decent chap

That's not fair! Why am I getting Tescos,I'm pretty sure I'm more likely to want to shag desperate MILFs than you are.

Went to doctors after reading "had a cough for 3 weeks? OMG cancer!" leaflet in chemists. Told Doc why I'm there, and she says ok, lets check you out. We put this on your finger....

Eh? Finger? What's going on here like?

Said device is measuring my oxygen levels apparently. I was well blown away. Star trek in Barnsley!

Also on bonus side she doesn't think I'm dying. I got choice of go for tests now, or give it a couple of weeks n see if it sods off. Couple of weeks it is then.

205 = MOT WIN!

As it's still covered in Wales from the 2CVGB Lake Vnvywnvyrnwy run back in November, tomorrow I shall treat it to a serious sponging from those nice Lithuanian gentlemen off the bypass.

Never got round to it.  But since it's been to Oswestry and back today - via Wolverhampton - and now looks like a reject 'art car' from Jackson Pollock's "salty shit period", that's possibly just as well...

Washed the Skoda on Sunday, by the time I got to work at 8:00 on Monday morning it was as though I had driven the RAC rally, the bastard was so caked in crap.

reading and seeing that vulg has been able to get some welding done to the princess without set fire to anything important.

reading the thread makes me chuckle, despair and have admiration for his determination, and also a wedge is for a WHINNNAAA.

The song in my head

"Crabulon" by evil scarecrow

A song about a robot crab

Lyrics include"

"But doctor how did Crabulon come to be?"

"Well little Kraven, when a robot and a crustacean love each other very much he uses his hard drivve to impregnate the crustaceans eggs. However the process of robo-insemination is far too complex for the human mind!"

Filled up with gas last night and paid a smidge under $2 a gallon, so it's fallen by $1/gallon since October last year. Ahhh happy days :-D

Posted

In fairness, in certain parts of America you'd probably have to drive 250 miles just to get to the supermarket. Still really annoying though!

Posted

US gallon is less, though.

Posted

I wouldn't have thought there was much less! $2 about £1.880ish? Still bloody cheap

Bub2006 pillaging a Mini for its engine and 'box to sort out his Metro, that's something to be cheerful about.

needs must my friend. If it's any consolation then the mini was already broken.

If you can, find the Team Rock Radio live version. They can be heard sniggering as they sing it when one of them starts to improv lines.

I think it's safe to say there's a lot of minis still about

More left than metros!

More left than metros!

Because all the metros have been pillaged for Mini bits.*

*which was Vulgalours point

And mine too. Trying to find metro parts are nigh on impossible and mini specialists seem to have a scene tax

Posted

it depends on what it is you are looking for.

some trim bits are the same on the rover metro/100, and mechanical bits are mini/allegro/typical bmc and bl transverse engine.

body panels, some bits are common (wings, outer sills, wheel arch repair bits etc) and other parts (all the floor!!) are either none existent or second hand, if you are very, very lucky....

auto metro and mini's though were never that common, and just wanting an internal bit of the gearbox will make things worse.
