What makes you grin? Antidote to grumpy thread

Very drunk man at the checkout in LIDL today, who only just had enough money for the £20 bottle of wine he was (inexplicably) purchasing. He seemed to think he'd scored with the till operator, being blissfully unaware of her not-very-subtle piss-taking, and slurred his farewells before weaving outside and immediately backing into a sign and going spectacularly arse-over-tip. Having got up, he very carefully moved the sign at least 6 inches away from where it was, before tacking across the car park towards a nearby pub.

Not only did it make me chuckle heartily, it made me feel a lot better about having just bought the cheapest, shitiest 'whisky' I could find.

Mainly for the reason it's the full fat Nismo 370Z, owned by a 70 odd year old little old lady, the latest in a long line of Nissan Z cars.  Go on old dear!! :))

Was just looking for a photo of the interior of Volksy's old Corolla to put on Triggers handbag thread and I found a photo of his old Renault Master Camper which he sold in 2011.

I did a quick look up on Dooovla and it seems its still tested but is SORN but thats probably just as its laid up for winter. I would have thought it would have been weighed in ages ago simply as it looked so shit being hand painted and with its home made interior but someone obviously loves it to keep it going.

Isn't that 'Vehicle Enquiry' web site great? . Got the reg no. for a car I was enquiring about with 'a few months MOT left' asked for the reg number and it actually runs out tomorrow!

Oh, and a great one from yesterday I forgot about: looking out of window talking to a mate on the phone, when a scruffy, filthy dirty silver Corsa B comes hurtling into the car park at the speed of light. Nearly hits a couple of other cars and narrowly misses an old bat walking along.

Anyhow, I stayed talking to my mate and the door went. It was Mr Silver Corsa (talking to someone on his mobile phone) delivering a parcel to my son.

Why do Yodel get a bad name again?

Good for her.

I used to deliver NetworkQ Vx's and had an Astra turbo convertible on board one day and delivered it to deepest west country, Somerset rings a bell and a very lovely village it was too, main dealers used to be sited in some really unusual places before these bloody retail parks appeared..

Anyway as i pull up near the garage this lovely senior lady comes bounding down the road like a spring lamb, its her new  car and she was like a puppy with two tails grinning over it, sales bloke reckoned she was near enough 80, she still looked well on it mind and must have been a cracker in her day. good for her too.

Good on her. I really wish my Mum would stop dithering about in small underpowered shite and get something decent.

The ladies darts final. Great stuff! When I started following the goings on at Lakeside the womens game was pretty much unwatchable, but what a great final yesterday!

Uncorked the latest batch of home made wine. It's a bit potent.

£20 for a bottle of wine in Lidl?

How 'kin big was the bottle?

You sure it wasn't 20 pence?

I missed that one, saw a cup of the semi finals and they were great. Best game I've seen so far was the Junior Final: the ginger haired lad from the Netherlands was absolutely superb. Second throw he 180 and he squeezed a 156 (I think) finish in as well as winning one with a single dart at bull. Well worth watching if they repeat it, he is a cast iron future world champ that lad and only 16.

Ma_KJ is getting on a bit too. She recently got rid of her underpowered* Subaru Impreza, in favour of an A3 Sportback 2.0 Turbo Quattro thingy. That thing can shift if you keep your toe in.

Pa_KJ's last two motors have been rather 'peppy' too... a Forester S-Turbo, and a Mitsubishi Evo-6 RalliArt. Mental. He's in his mid-80's now.

I prefer superbikes but I'm starting to see the appeal in plodding along at 40mph

No - LIDL R SRS SHOPZ now, there's a load of premium wines in there (in fact I don't think any of their bottles are under a fiver anymore) - that was partly why it was so funny, why would you bother buying decent plonk when you're too hammered to tell the difference?

That reminds me, didn't Trigger have a Mondeo ST?

Lidl do decent wine for less than 4 quid that's what I stocked up on for Christmas . I bought a couple of nice wines from their too. Nom

Went to view 6 houses on Sat just gone.

1st one is just about perfect for what we are looking for in regards to location (Loggerheads), layout ect

Mrs pretty much fell in love with it straight away.

Went to see the others which are more Stoke on Trent area...

My god its a depressing place

Went back to the 1st house and made them an offer, which was accepted straight away!!

Best bit is it already has a double length garage and the Mrs loves my idea of extending further and sticking a dog run on the end as well.

She even said "you will have room for that other Escort you have been watching "

Love her. .lol

Did a coach job yesterday for the Birmingham RSPB group. Stupid o clock start and out till late o clock and stuck in the middle of nowhere for hours in between (yesterday it be Rutland Water).

Stocked up on sausages, bread and brown sauce Saturday night. Took Primus stove and pan and when the crowd had gone twitching, sat in the locker of the coach cooking sausage sarnies for dinner. Yum!

You still got the RF Andy? Hopefully should be getting my license this year so was going to say when I've got it perhaps we could sort out a Staffordshire run out with berapotter on his lovely bandit, he only lives a mile or so away from me. Agreed stoke is a grim place

In that case have a peak at Greasy Kulture mag and for cold + wet winter sundays try turning  Harbortown + H'town  Bobber or Choppertown or Best Bar up loud. You'll end up buying old bike bits.
