What makes you grin? Antidote to grumpy thread

The Saab 900 with dropships one is brilliant - I'd love that on a massive canvas in the front room.

Those paintings are amazing. The cars give it a much better sense of realism. Wish I could draw/paint like that

We have a mouse hiding somewhere behind the kitchen units. This would be a grump, except it's now become a test of science*. I left Ma a note telling her of the problem, and went out and obtained a none lethal mouse trap. Ma meanwhile has read my note and got a rusty finger breaker trap. Ma's trap has gluten free bread as bait. Mine has nutella spread. How smart is said mouse?

I had the 'pleasure' of eating some of that recently. It tasted like sawdust and cardboard.

Finally we know the "s" in andy18s stands for Santa!

Can I have a PS4, some more hair for my head, a new front tooth, an 8 kilo block of cheese, some whisky, a dog, two chocolate oranges and a tangerine? I've been a good boy in 2014*

Already had enough of Santa and all his minions.

His "little helpers" must have done some serious acid back in the day.....

Have a Merc instead

If you want to catch the mouse chocolate is the way to go. Aldi Wacko bars work well as do Mars tho caramel can run.

We had a major mouse problem a couple of years back and found chocolate spread works well . I once caught 6 in one night. I gave up on the humane traps after a while and went to the snappy splat ones . I really don't like killing them but I like them running around shitting on stuff even less .

Been browsing Auto-raider and just spotted this:

http://www.mikebrewermotors.com/

I didn't realise he had licenced his name to an actual used car dealership.

"Mike Brewer, a name you can trust"

Trust Mike to sell you a bodged up heap with shiny wheels at over-the-odds prices more like. Horrible little man.

Good luck to the bloke, he's just trying to run a business and I bet he'll come under more scrutiny than most dealers, just because he's well known.

One of my mates had a mouse problem. She let the neighbour's cat in and it killed them all.

Aye, that's definitely the most effective way - but be prepared to hunt down all the small fragments of mouse scattered through the house. Ours will eat 95% of whatever creature she catches, except the stomach and sometimes the head. You would not believe how bad a <1cm mouse stomach smells after a few days.

Son's girlfriend is in hospital at the moment, she texted to say her friend wasn't visiting today as her Granada isn't well....  I'm assuming a typo.

One of our cats, Jasper, used to eat the lot. Usually in three bites. He buggered off to live in the wild, I still see him from time to time.

Those pictures are quite grand theft autoish.

I think the artist does some work for a game studio (not Rockstar though) so I guess he has a similar gift for atmosphere and detail.

I love his pictures for the sheer ambiguity - although there are recurring themes and images, there's no attempt to force a narrative or explanation on you. I think the heavy Scandinavian influence makes a difference too.

The only mice we ever get in the house are the ones our cat brings in and lets go.

I'm with Richard on that one. The only mice ever in the house have been presents.

Bob the cat is now quite elderly and makes his presence felt in other unpleasant ways.

@fronteratech is the user.  I don't know how best to link to the current convo.

Try to find a SamsungGT-B2710. They don't seem to stock them anywhere any more but there are plenty of new ones turn up on ebay. I have had mine 3 years which is a first for me to find a phone that can put up with being dropped in buckets of water run over etc. It can get on the internet but is pretty shit at it. It lasts a week on a charge as well. I have bought myself a spare one for when it finally dies.

I had one a few years back - great 'phone' phone with internet capability if you need it. But not good enough at it for you to waste time on the 'net...

Only failed when it was lost at sea, which wasn't really the phone's fault!

My grin is this (not incorrectly addressed) Christmas card which arrived today:
