Nice one Billy.I have to ask though, what are those plants sitting on?I thought it was a roof garden at first but there appears to be a street outside.Do you live over an underground station?

I reckon it's a cellar conversion of some kind.

Nice one Billy.

Ditto, from the small glass panes it reminds me of a shop basement which I used to visit.

Chris Barrie's massive engines. He is a nerd, as am I. Good stuff.A lot of whats on that QUEST channel on digital is quite good, like Al Murray's road to Berlin.Pete-M - them Rover pictures have given me special feelings.

Cheers. Sometimes wished I did tbh  Nah, we live over some shops and those weird concrete/glass carbuncles are the sort of sky lights for the shop below.

Lovely stuff Cavette. Sounds like its out of the way of the general public? Just as well. I did a B series flower pot a few years ago and it lasted a couple of months in the front of our place before the plants were pulled out and it was nicked for scrap...

Cheers. It's out the way as best as it can be, but then again so was the big steel girder I had to put in the next scrapper, but some gippo bastards had that off the other day.

Baking hot and I'm burnt to fuck due to forgetting sun cream and riding there/back in a t-shirt.

Still the cacophony of noise and the solid screen of two stroke smoke at every junction/roundabout made it all worth while.

I finally got to see something I had always been amazed by as a kid, probably thanks to Top Trumps. We went to Duxford and I spent ages looking at the SR71 Blackbird. I'm no big air/military/war fan but what a simply awe inspiring machine.

I'd love to see that too Seth.....I'll get there one day.I can still remember it flying over my Aunt & Uncles place in Bury St Edmunds on it's way into Mildenhall back in the early 80's.

Yup, I'm no war mongerer either, but that is an incredible machine. Is the B52 still jammed in the hanger too? BIG aeroplane.

LOCAL PUBS FOR LOCAL PEOPLEWas lucky enough to find myself in deepest Norfolk yesterday, and ventured out with my big sister to a pub on the river. Wonderful food, local ales, and they embraced us as friendly strangers even when we nearly won their pub quiz :) Utterly enjoyable evening.Makes a change from Wetherspoons and the like, where they forget your face in the time it takes to pour a pint, and they give it to the chap stood next to you.

Yup. Actually not such a big fuselage I thought but massive wings.

The flat I live in is on the England Heritage page! That doesnt suprise me, nor make me smile considering it is Grade II, which isnt so great when you consider you cant do anything that could visually alter any aspect of the aesthetics. For example, when the door was smashed in on the Newsagents, they had to replace it with one identical to the old one, otherwise people would have complained. Also, no double glazing, shit in winter but great in summer with ye olde sash windows. No, what made me smile was the amount of shite parked outside at the time the picture was taken, in 2000. Hearing aid beige MKII Fiesta, Sunny saloon, Corolla GTi etc etc.

Cleaned the car top to bottom this evening. Washed, dried, hoovered, wheels done, tyres dressed, Autoglym lashed on thus scoring at least 110 bonus points from swmbo. 8)

Twin displays FTMFW! Took ages to sort out, as they both just kept displaying the same thing.

I went to Duxford with work on a research thing. That Blackbird is frigging awesome, not as big as I'd thought it would be. The biggest was the bomber in the centre. I touched a metal button on the side of it, and a big panel fell down. Oops. The Vulcan was amazing as well, it's pretty insane to look at.Glad they had the Super Sabre and the English Electric Lightning there, my faves.

Bit late this, but I finally got to go for a proper spin on the CZ 180 yesterday. Battery's still fooked (and I still haven't got round to ordering a replacement  ) but I bought one of those big square 6v torch batteries from the local hardware shop (the ones with two springs on top), and that powered the ignition for long enough for me to buzz up to the coast and back. It's actually great fun to ride, very torquey for a 2-stroke, very light and more than adequately quick for back roads if given some beans. Might be a bit out of its depth on long motorway jaunts though.

Two things made me jolly todayElderly British Tourist = [EBT] cute charming hotel receptionist = [CCHR]essential background fact 1. A common surname in China is Wang, and it translates literally to King – many people take the English name King to address foreigners.essential background fact 2. Reception staff use English to talk to each other in front of foreign guests rather than rabbit away in Chinese.EBT to CCHR: Excuse me dear, can I speak to the assistant manager about the television set in our room, I can’t seem to find any English channels. Room 1910.CCHR to EBT: Err… you want see Manager?{EBT pulls out Hotel Services Guide and points to picture of Mr King, asst manager on the inside front cover}EBT to CCHR: Yes please dear, this man here – Mr. KingCCHR to EBT: Aah, Assistant Manager Wang. Just one minute, I ask he come to your room.CCHR on phone: Nihao, reception, please Wang Jingli come to help guest with TV {waits}EBT to CCHR: Could we see Mr. King though?CCHR to EBT: Same people Sir – King is English name…CCHR on phone: Nihao Nihao, guest want Wang King Jingli in room 1910EBT: No dear, I just want to watch BBC World.CCHR: Yes Sir, Manager is Wang King. Manager Wang King in your room to fix TV.Words cannot describe the look on EBT's face. Meanwhile, I and several other guests in helpless mirth but do try and explain the situation. CCHR just had no idea what was so funny. AndDriving along deserted mountain roads coming into town at 06:30 in the Pajero listening to Mumford and Sons “Awake my Soul†at full volume.
