Being English. Happy St George's day.

Happy St Georges day, Billy!Maybe one day it will end up being as bank holiday with a Mardi Gras type atmosphere. Might have to wait a while though.

Thanks Tim, it bloody well should be a bank holiday. It sometimes seems it's not 'fashionable' to be English, or it should be something to be ashamed of, but I'm bloody proud of it.Other happy news today:Won some stuff ('matured' sand for my fishtank) on eBaY. Parcel arrived the other day leaking all over the shop and some of it missing. Mailed the seller, explained the situation and he sent me a load more out plus some frags etc as a bonus. Nice to know not everyone on eBaY is a moron, just mailed him to say thankyou.

Seeing the front pages of the Sun and the Mirror side by side in the news stands, giving completely opposite "news" regarding the outcome of last night's debate. This is the first time since 1997 that I've actually been mildly interested in a general election.

Im excited to vote because this is the first time I have been able to.

Its not often I see a car (which is relatively modern) which I dont know, but today it happened and I was literally stumped until I saw the badges.

An early (?) P reg Kia Mentor.

Looked great! And mint too, sadly moving.

There is a massive amount of local shite I havent seen before going around at the moment, makes up for some of the cars which have been scrapped recently, for example the tidy Maestro Diesel.

Watching the 1992 BTCC races again. Remember Will 'Shippa' Hoy and Andy Rouse racing these?

I often watch the old touring car stuff, I have the season videos from 94 - 01 and the 1993 Toca shootout (remember that with Mansells crash at Donington?)

I was at Donnington for that race! I think it was Tiff Nedell that made Nigel crash.

1. Being borrwed a tape of the "Rover Sterling Drivers Information Cassette" its so patronising its hilarious!

2. Being given a "Rover 800 Salesman Training Video" and finding out its from 1986, featuring none other than Chris Goffey interviewing a few yuppie and old-skool SD1 driving businessman types on thier impression of the 'new' Rover 800. Funniest thing I've seen in a while.

3. Finally getting a few tunes I've been after for a while, including the Auf Weidersehen Pet theme tune.

Arn't they used as everyday transport in Australia and N/Z? I remember reading there used to be a few Mustangs used by farmers illegally in the Auzzie outback during the 70's and 80's. Bet that was fun!

Well there are a few DC-3s still going! On a related note, if I had a time machine I'd go back to the 50's, by a barn and fill it full of decommissioned warplanes. They would be worth millions now

Surprising Citroen Berlingo is making me grin actually. For the last week I've been running around in an 07 plate Berlingo. Nothing unusual there though. This example, despite being not quite three years old has covered 128k and I'm amazed by how well it drives and that it generally still feels tight and unworn.I know that its quite capable of big miles but I expected it to be horrible so its amused me somewhat that its so good. Very impressed (and its not often you can say that about a modern Citroen. Is it Wat)

My Dad rates Berlingos but bought a Nemo Multispace instead. It has futureshite written all over it and I strongly believe it will be mine in about fifteen years when he quits driving! It will probably only have 50000 on the clock by thenCrackingly practical motor though, ugly too but I like 'em!
