Vulgalour, you need stuff from the 4/5/6 range. The 12/15/17 range are a much larger PCD, nothing will fit.

If you're looking for pretty rims, I've a few Gordini & Gordini turbo sets. I'd get it legal first though.

They were intended for my base 73 5l (ex Dollywobbler) but I found some nice starbursts, so these took a back seat.

I've 2 sets (from memory) so happy to pass on to another relevant owner -as opposed to a chancer, looking for a fast buck at my expense.

Don't worry- they aren't going anyplace soon

Stitches out my back today. feels much better. Going to celebrate by cooking a big fry up. yum yum

This initially was a grump but became a grin.

I ordered 2 Alpine GTA wing mirrors from a chap on the club website. They came today but not packaged very well at all, numerous carrier bags and a Miley Cirus gift bag were used. Anyway up shot was one got broken in transit but I needed the motor and collar so can salvage it. In the packet there were 2 keys and a note! What could it be?

You can't really make it out due to shite camera phone pic but it basically says that there is a lockup full of Renault 17 parts near Blackpool help yourself!

Anyone know anyone with a R17 who needs bits let me know.

Looks like the Post Office used a wrecking ball.

Nice one on the Reno bits!

Absolutely nothing to do with cars, old or new. But my quest to make and bake the perfect french baguette has moved on to the next level! Almost there after two years of trying! Last nights efforts 8 out of 10.

Brilliant vid that.

KV6 is going into storage in about 14 days time. I won't be renewing the insurance which is up on the 14th seeing as I will be abroad-bound less than 10 days after. I'm glad the old thing will be kept nice, warm and dry whilst I am away.

Where do you stand on the continuous insurance bollocks? Is it being sorned?

Hang on, isn't that faster than Clarkson in the Jaaaag? ;)

To save Clarkson for once, it took this guy 7 years and 25k km to beat the magical 10 minute mark. Trust me, you will not go under 10 mins at your first attempt, even if you bring a big bloody V8.

My fastest EVAH is just a nick under 8 minutes with a full race STT Corvette, but my personal lifetime achievement is 10:10 - with a Fiat 850 Sport.

What's the reason for not taking it with you?

I watched that vid today but from the PH link. Fucking made my day, had tears in my eye when he hit the steering wheel with glee at the end!

On a different note, I;ve gone and done  the government gateway bollocks for Amy, and successfully completed the lost driving license form, with no issues at all! So now her license won't have an address on she hasnt lived at for years! Then we can get our bank account address changed as she'll have fooking ID! And we can register at the doctors etc. Amazing how important the little fuckers can be. I swear I've not looked at mine for years!

They have 2 weeks to dissappoint me, it all sounds too good to be true! A DVLA website actually working and saying everything's ok? Mmmmmm

Yes it'll be SORNed and Tax disc will be cashed in. I don't think it'll need insurance as its covered anyway where it is stored.

It's not ready, I'd have liked to have got the cambelt sorted and generally give it a good service but as I don't have the time or money to spare I won't risk breaking it by trying to take it to the South of France. I might have been happier to take it with me had the job been in Nortn France/Belgium/Holland but beyond that might prove too much for it. Besides, in my job there will be a shared car available. It might also give me scope to buy some unpopular luxobarge out there for some Euros.

My mate's just replaced his metallic gold 1986 Micra with a 185k-mile beige 1986 Peugeot 205GRD.

I wasn't sure on fitments and could find nothing conclusive.  Also, road legal is the priority but when opportunity knocks...

Gordini wheels, like any of these?  Because if so then omg yes plz.

I've seen them on both (but do you think I can find the pictures now I want them?) and they are very much a deluxe box of win even without any lowering going on.

Me too. Don't know whether its just a slightly grown up version of jumping into puddles as a kid, but I have an attraction to water...

I fucking love driving through puddles

I did right up until that point where I did it in a Vectra C 1.9CDTi. The dash lit up like Blackpool Illuminations and it went into limp, hobble, beer scooter and com mode/s. That really did tear it.

Our old vectra c did all that if someone sneezed in the next village. Hateful cars

Drove through a puddle in a quite new VW golf 4 x 4 formation, wrecked the bloody engine, argued with insurance, but did win in the end. £4500 for a new engine, I keep away from them now.

I once hit a puddle in my beetle and got water shooting out of the steering column and soaking me.

Also, in a Type 3 with rotten heater channel ends, if you hit the water hard enough the water fills the channels and heads down the car to the exhaust heat exchangers. At this point it will boil, and the steam will shoot back out of the vents instantly covering all interior glass with condensation and meaning you're driving blind. Awesome.

I drove through a puddle in the Princess.  Nothing exciting happened.  My car is a massive disappointment.

Same with Sterling, and the puddle was sill deep.

Used to trundle past queues waiting for tide to go down at Mersea strood.in my citroen ds & slowly raise suspension as i drove into the water, then stop on other side  to watch suckers trying to drive through.

It was funny at the time.....

In my defence,i was 18,and car was a £15 banger.

My current school run operates to a village called Lochwinnoch, which ironically sits on the banks of a loch called Semple. It burst it's banks earlier this week meaning my only easy was in was through about 18ins of water for a good 150-200yds. Naturally I selected hold first and gunned it and naturally the water created huge waves and a bow wave up past the headlights.

Unfortunately my current steed isn't entirely water tight, and the water that came flooding in through the already sikaflexed floor joins and wheelarch tubs completely soaked all of the children in the lower deck...

Nothing exciting happens when I drive my car through big puddles either, even if you stick it in first and really go for it. Other motorists look concerned when you do that however...

Up at Ouston, nr Chester le Street, the old railway line to Consett Iron Works had a bridge which always flooded after rain. I would hammer through the pool (set depth and good road under) in my Skoda 130GL.

Like an aquaplane and it never missed a beat... wouldn't try it in FWD  :-P
