Traction engines are a kind of motor, I'd say it's on-topic enough.  Last one I encountered in the wild was the next size up from that out Buxton way, it was a glorious thing to see lumbering along, even if the daft old cow in a Honda Jazz that cut him up did cause consternation for us other drivers at the junction.

The favourite wally trick is zooming round and pulling into your stopping space at a red light or a T junction. You can stop quite quickly but it doesn't do the engine much good.

I set a new personal best today in the TD. Got to Altrincham this morning to warm the car up a bit, then home, then to Manchester and back home again in record time. I 'out 3-series-d' a couple of BMWs along the way, and the only car which overtook me going was a new Merc who wasn't half going some.

CALENDARCRAFT Christmas do last night. Had a brill time, got really pissed and bought my staff* a slap up meal. Pushed the boat out a bit and had a DOUBLE cheeseburger AND small chips.
