Came home to find 2 lads trying to break into their transit. The door lock barrel shat itself, snapping their key too. They had booked themselves into the hotel next door, and were trying to get their bags.

I dug out the puma key, popped outside and clunk, one open door. They've been there 3 hours apparently, lock people coming tomorrow for a new lock and key set, bill going to the gaffer.

Old fords, can't beat them! At least they have clothes now. It didn't start it though.

I knew you could lock any older Ford with the tibbe type keys with any other Ford key but didn't know there was a way of opening them too.

Ford locks shitting themselves and snapping the key doesn't surprise me though.

Spotted in Morrisons Burton-on-Trent, 5l of veg oil for £5.

I may be emptying the shelves there each morning this week :D

I drove 62 plate VW Scirocco today. Have to admit it, a really good car that drove and sounded like a petrol with nice boosty engine and good DSG gearbox with flappy/gear knob setup. Couldn't fault it but my arse/back was unbelievably sweaty due to the weird, hard seats.

£16.99 for 20 litres in Costco I'm told. A mate should be getting me some today all being well.

Waterproof iPhone Advert: 'Owners Fooled'
Handsets appear to have been damaged as Apple fans hit out at false claims that a software update made their devices waterproof.

The prank advert closely mimics the look of Apple's real marketing

A fake Apple advert claiming the new iOS 7 software makes iPhones and iPads waterproof has apparently fooled some users into destroying their devices.

The "advert" circulating on social media sites claims that updating devices with the operating system installs a "smart switch" that cuts off the phone's power supply when water is detected.

This, it claims, "prevents any damage to your iPhone's delicate circuitry".

The advert looks remarkably similar to an authentic Apple advertisement, with the same plain white background and minimalist font and style.

It seems some users have been fooled into dunking their expensive gadgets into water to test out the promised feature, only to render their devices useless.

One user wrote on Twitter: "Whoever said iOS 7 was waterproof **** you."

Another wrote: "OK whoever said iOS 7 is waterproof GO **** YOURSELF."

The prank idea is believed to have originally started on the controversial forum 4Chan.

The iOS 7 software was released last week, and is available as a free upgrade for newer models of the iPhone and iPad.

It provides a series of new features including an overhaul of the interface.

It was released shortly before the new iPhone 5S and 5C models went on sale.

The 5S features a fingerprint unlocking device for extra security. However, a group of German hackers has found a way to bypass the measure.

The group, known as the Chaos Computer Club, says a fingerprint of the phone user, photographed from a glass surface, is enough to create a fake latex finger that could unlock the phone.

Who are these simple idiots that have fallen for this.

Found it hilarious that so called intelligent people probably in responsible jobs can be so stupid.

Pleased to discover on my lunch break today that the otherwise slick and modern local bus company who runs the P-plate LDV minibus most recently seen getting a jump start off a van has a still better option - an even older Sherpa-style LDV on an N plate with an even bigger underseal tidemark gracing sills, bodywork and wheelarches.  It was clearly in daily use too as it was parked up being loaded with pensioners.  They're certainly getting their money's worth out of it.

Insurance, amazingly.  First car is now the HL as a normal regular car because I have the HLS as a second car.  Ability to drive other cars 3rd party.  10k annual mileage limit.  Gaining NCB.  Cost of this?  Tiny little admin fee and no increase to my policy.  I get to shed myself of the financial responsibility of the Golf and turn my wallet to two cars I actually really like.

Semi grin day. Got a second hand bumper for my disco. Boshed it on, and after an afternoon being sweary decided to admit defeat, there's no way I'm going to get it to fit properly at the sides. Went to see my tame mechanic to see if he'd like a go. He says he'll try, but go round the car parks and get a photo of what it's supposed to fit like. Slight problem, haven't found 2 the same yet. Panel gaps? Yep, there's gaps that'll do QC pass.

Just spunked £63 on oil, oil filters, air filters and brake cleaner (for the throttle body on the XM) for the fleet! Some productive weekends ahead!

Paid £3 for next day delivery as I CBA to drive over to euro car parts to get it!

This made me grin:

However I do wish them the best of luck. They've went out and PRODUCED something, rather than just sitting behind a keyboard sneering about it before driving home in your A4 TDi.

I don't think I'd be too surprised if that turned out to have a 1200cc Beetle engine and swing-axle suspension. Looks properly home-made.

Big thx to The Moog of this parish, I have eventually collected the flywheel from ruffgeezer.

It's heavier than I expected, as I was lead to believe flywheels from the 1H engine were around 5kg, so thx for lugging it down to Lincs.

Oh, and thx to ruffgeezer as well for holding on to it until I got round to picking it up.

I'm looking forward to the single flywheel conversion on the boring next week.
