Donkey netbook doing a sterling job standing in while my other machines are repaired by SCTSH_ANDY. The former was old and creaking, the latter new and utterly banjaxed by my incompetence.

This particular netbook had a baptism of fire - it replaced another identical Inspirion Mini that lasted a week and died after catastrophic hard disc failure. Touch wood - this one's been faultless. I can edit my photos, post on the Internet, edit my blog and play appalling MAME games no sweat. The only thing it can't do is edit footage - but I have my Hackintosh for that.

Everyone tells me they're shit, pointless and slow. Netbooks, that is. This one seems to be coping fine.

I apologise for the appalling dip in photograph quality over the last few posts. I've not had the D60 to hand as much as I'd have liked.

Netbooks are fine for surfing the net and stuff like that, but the thing that drives me mad about them is that the touchpads are shite - doesn't matter if it's a Dell, Compaq, Toshiba or anything else...

Drove a 2.2 DCi Espace when I worked at the garage:

That reminds me - my favourite thing about the Espace was those alloys...

Probs a repost, but this is stunning - SD3 on factory miles. Hope it ends up in a museum.

I'm sure that was up for £3750 a few months back over on car&classic.co.uk, i wonder what it will make now it has better photos and advert?.

Housewarming party last night, and everybody made the effort to turn up!

Went really well, except a few of Nics friends don't wholly understand why one wall of the boxroom is totally lined with car brochures....

Back from Santa Pod where there was finally some racing! A lot of the classes have been called from most, if not all of their meetings so far this year so it was nice that everyone got out and the race director was clever enough to keep it running into the evening last night in case of rain today.

Of which there was lots overnight, but come 8am it brightened up, they dried the track, and had another full day :D

My brother and I have solved the Polo running problem and now he runs! Or at least, he will once we put more petrol in. This is a Good Thing and a major mojo boost.

I scored a good 2 or 300 old photos from that truck show yesterday for a ten spot, the old boy selling them said he took them all himself and some of them are brilliant. Obv. there's a few were not all of the target are in frame and what not.

I'm trying to scan a few to post them up on here but I'm knackered if I can remember how to scan then put on the internet.

After two weeks of owning the MR2, I've managed 45 - 50 mpg (on the motorway). The underneath is totally solid and there's no funny bangs or knocks.

I was gutted when I had to get rid of my last one, but it was beyond saving, and was hoping this would be as good to drive and it is, deffo best car I've owned. :)

Out for a wee drive while the roads were quiet tonight, and saw this previously snapped bubblecar

Got in from the salt mines, decided to go out to the offy to top up on cider. As I was about to climb into the motor and fire it up/choke the neighbours, the old man (90s) across the street nodded at me and beckoned me over. In the back of his young friends van was an engine. A 3 litre IOEV Rover P5 saloon engine, headless, but otherwise about to be stripped and restored.... He's also just finished a rather fetching Grey MG Magnette. Seems his friend does a few real cars up, and tells me of a Farina Wolseley at a breakers yard, just in, complete, but in need of help.... uncertain if a 4 or a 6 pot, but I might just have to go investigate..........!!!

Looks like his buddy didn't get his trousers down in time...

There's this bloke on youtube over in the US and A who runs an engine machine shop place and he bangs loads of videos out of various machining things he does. They generally worth watching, but in his spare time, instead of being good at engines, he's branched out into music. I've heard a few bits before which were rubbish, but the latest video is just more brilliant than I can explain.
