Finding a brand-new pair of M&S fur-lined corduroy slippers in a charity shop.

Realising I drank less Vodka than I thought last night: there's still 2/3 of a bottle left.

Yesterday's home-made Biryani, beautiful beyond words. And enough for tomorrow as well.

These Top of the Pops chart run downs. I assume the rest of the episodes, like many, are 'missing believed wiped'...Pity, as I would have loved to have seen 'Andy Zorkestra and his Orchestra':lol: or 'Bakey & the Beans' for that matter...

I have been on a cooking fest and bought a bizillion tonnes of different spices. We've had about 6 curries in 8 days so far. OH says it has to stop now :(

Going to try a Biryani type dish tomorrow though, he's working lates so can have a ready meal at work instead :P

The missus has been shopping online and scored a 2.2L tub of Patak's Biryani paste for £2. Apparently we can get about 75 meals out of it :D Took me about 20 mins to actually make a massive pot yesterday, result!

This. My SD1 finally back on 4 wheels after 9 months. Made progress today and hopefully tomorrow I'll have it in primer dependant on how much cheap red wine I drink.

I thought this might raise a smile, it's from a 1987 issue of CAR magazine.

My elderly neighbour came to the door earlier on, with his laptop under his arm. In short, he thought the display was on its way out, as it was very dim, and at maximum brightness.

"No probs, Jim, come in for a drink and I'll take a look" quoth I.

No tools were required, just a fuckload of LCD screen cleaner. It was MINGING! :D:D:D

Just been watching the film "Stander" Loadsa South African Cortina content and plenty of background shite too.

Helped out a bloke in a broken down Ford Focus estate. Apparently the cambelt snapped only a few weeks after being fitted despite him telling the mechanic (Someone he's known for 20+ years) to change all the ancillaries. As the car was sitting near a busy roundabout I helped him push to a sideroad into a layby where it would be out of busy traffics way.

Didnt catch the blokes name, was offered a drink (A real one, lager, but I dont drink) he also commented on how nice the my Rover was. Hopefully he'll get it back to the garage and get a proper job done on it.

Just Messerschmitt Owner who's done me a right favour. Cheers Campbell, you're a star and it was much appreciated.

I have just got off a plane, which is usually a cause to grump for me. Not this time though. I sat across the isle from, and chatted for 2 hours to one of my greatest "heroes". We even went through immigration together. I promised not to "go tweetin' or shit...".

I just can't keep it to myself though, so those in their late 30's and early 40's will probably guess who it was when I tell you we talked about double neck acoustic guitars, the most common word you will sing along with him to will be (and at the top of your register and volume) "WAAAAAANTED"; we talked about the flanger settings on the second verse of "Never Say Goodbye", and true to form he was wearing scuffed suede cowboy boots and his way way way more famous lead singer always "fucks up on the guitar bits - man he's so shit" (sic) when they play live.

I'll delete this in a minute as I am sure this is betraying my promise not to broadcast anything to the world.

Sounds good Tom, not sure who your exactly on about but I will find out. The only "famous" person I've ever met was Freddie Starr in a Sainsbury's car park in Selly Oak, had a bit of a chat but he didnt really leave much of an impression. I also saw that young bird he's shacked up with.

That young bird is my Wife's Ex-Husband's step daughter. Phakt.

:?: (Please say yes 8) )

I saw Lemmy from Motorhead a few years ago at Stansted airport, he was in the Wetherspoons bar that me and my mates were drinking in, it wasn't a pleasant sight though, how a man that age and with that beer gut getting into a pair of skinny jeans is beyond me but christ it was a awful sight that will haunt me for years.

Imagine in a few years time in care homes all over the country, hard pressed carers trying to get octagenarian headbangers into skin tight jeans.

Right, moment has passed now and I have long stopped jumping up and down squealing and behaving like someone a third of my age. I will say that despite the slight* starstruck initial babbling, I refrained from covert photography, and did not get my boarding pass signed.

Bang on Trig and Tayne (and others). Man on the right. A real 2.3Ghia moment.

Good on you CT, it must be great to meet a hero and not make a fool of yourself :D

About 8 years back I had not long met Ms C and was mostly living in her student flat. Wurzel, a former Motorhead guitarist was due to appear at our local metal bar but I couldn't get the night off work. I was less than pleased about this as I'm a fan but skiving would have probably got me sacked. Anyhow on the night in question Ms C dragged me down the hospital to have an ill advised piercing removed from my face as the swelling meant I couldn't open my eye. On the way back we passed the nightclub where I worked and I was shown to the boss, he eventually accepted defeat and allowed me the night off as I was fairly obviously no use to anybody with a face full of lignicane.

Now I'd completely forgotten about my hero playing my local as I'd been convinced that I couldn't go, so went home for a quiet night in. Around 2am Ms C was awoken by a good deal of noise downstairs and went to investigate. Nev, one of our flatmates had a rockabilly band of his own and often worked with others, turns out that he knew Wurzel from back in the day (he was a mature student) so he ended up back at our house. Thing was I'd only been with Ms C a couple of weeks and she didn't know that I was a Motorhead fan so she didn't try that hard to wake me up to join the party. I was a little miffed come morning
