^ I thought that as well, The bloke is a grade A* idiot, you would have thought he'd had learned by now after all the piss taking last time, So he's polished the car and put a £500 mark up on it, and according to the negative feedback he left the car small of a burning smell as well.

I was so tempted to say something in his for sale thread but It would only back fire on me.

boll's comment on the for sale thread made me laugh :D

so....how much do you think he will sell it for, after a couple of weeks of reductions

if we are having a sweepstake i ll say 400 quid

I'm imagining some sort of TV comedy show sketch where a load of animal rights activists hatch a plan to release a load of hamsters 'back into the wild' from that Huntingdon Life Sciences place. they plan it all out over weeks and weeks to the Nth degree, the big night comes, Panda Selecta goes to pick up the gang (who are all tooled up with crowbars, balaclavas etc) and then...... 'WE CAN'T TRAVEL IN THIS, ITS GOT LEATHER SEATS!' The hamsters live on and enjoy a few more days of getting shampoo in their eyes or whatever.

I also like the way he is so vegan he has image of a haribo bear as his avatar... surely tis made of pork gelatine?

Of course he was actually going to use it to help the ALF to destroy a Monkey Lab somewhere in a massive car bomb attack, it was unfortunately not to be as they couuld not intereact with the leather/thought trying to make a quick buck was better.

What we need is someone with cloth seats for the same car to offer to swap with him and actually go up there and change them over. I expect he'd then say he's a member of the 'People (for the) Ethical Treatment (of) Silk Moths' and couldn't possibly drive a car that had carried BUTTERFLY MURDERING BASTARDS in it. Plus his mate Julian will only sit on fair trade tofu.

o.k, so who is 'Riptide' then.

Looks a bloody nice example of a 900 in the photos though TBF.

I'd give him three ton for it. SCTSH_ANDY has had a look and reckons 'forh hunred qued' maximum. Also, if I'm being pedantic, it's got the wrong wheels on it - they're off a 9000 CSE.

Also, it appears to have a leather interior.

Riptide isn't me either but I did rofl a lot.

I've been told about about a Y reg MG Metro 1.3 in red with only 27000 miles on the clock with a years ticket that's for sale locally for £1000, Now I'm not the biggest fan of Metro's, I'm 6ft tall and I'm after a pre-1981 car with a bigish engine.

Would i be stupid not to go and look at this Metro?

Posted

Certainly be worth a look. I bet they're dead rare now as some many succumbed to tin worm and Mini owners bumming them for the engine. They do move pretty well though and aren't so cramped inside for us tall-ies.

I reckon you should at least view it and try it out then whang some pictures up for us to perv over.

Bought another fan-blower for the Sterling off ebay a few days ago. It arrived today, set off with my tools for another half-an-hour of bending backwards trying to fit myself into the footwell to get under the glovebox and undo little bolts. New fan tested and all works well! Fitted it up and now (hopefully) I have a nice new fan blowing warm air into the car.

Metros are INSANE fun. All the go-kart cornering joy of a Mini but normal shaped people can actually fit in them. A Y-reg is super early and pretty desirable I would have thought. Go and try it. If it isn't your cup of tea, fair enough. If it is, I can't wait to see pictures!

I went to view it, Sadly the light was fading so these shite photo are all i got, It seems pretty tidy, the o/s front wing was missing it's lower sill part so that would need replacing but the rest of the car was pretty sight par a few scabs.

The suspension had dropped (don't they all) so it needed a good pumping, the interior was lovely and orginial also, even down to it's orginial radio although it did need a good clean.

Personally though i wasn't feeling it, I've never been a big fan of them although i agree they are fun to drive, If it was say £500-600 i might have been tempted but it's not for me.

If anyone is interested though let me know and I'll pass on the details.

Just getting insurance renewal for wife's BMW 316 and finding it a fair few quid cheaper than the Laguna it replaced. £182 fully comp FTW

Seeing a 61-plate Merc G350 in Dundee this morning. It's still making me grin. I can't help but think it's instant Autoshite; sure it's split new, and not cheap either. But of all the 'premium' 4x4's to buy, you'd have to be thinking a bit differently to walk into a Merc dealers, and sign on the line for the German Army staffcar, rather than the lifestyle one. Round of applause is due to that 'individualist', I believe.

I've just scored an incredibly cheap electric scooter! Not the kids type, but the ones that look like a Chinshung Generic Madness Kim Jon iL Jitterbong 49cc rev and go. Fark me sideways with a bargepole if it isn't a right fiddly like MUTHA to repair. I know the Chinese are small but did they use remote controlled mice to put these things together?

I thought that the original display was perfect. Very spectacular and an early cut to the pub.

This is from a friends daughters facebook, she is 16, and obviously a little screwed up due to a series of shit fuck ups through out her life, the "grin" isn't at her, but the tattoo with wrong dates and the general lack of intelligence in the whole thing, made me chuckle and cringe....

ah, i have copied stuff from her page in the grump thread before, a 15 yr old girl drawing tattoos on her wrist in memory of her jailed now dead father, the year of birth was wrong and was corrected via facebook by her uncle in chav txt type speak, the whole facebook world of some i find truly alarming, and it all serves as a reminder to me on how not to let my own wee girls grow up.

Driving back from work at 2.30am this morning. Hardly anything on the road apart from trucks (Saw a few that had just left from my company) The Sterling performed effortlessly, it was comfortable, fast and absolutely brilliant to drive, I just couldnt help but grin and effortlessly cruised home and clear roads. And with the fan heater blower now working it also warms the cabin up alot faster and clears the windscreen in no time.
