Oh that reminds me, A mate yesterday told me of a young girl he's seen driving about in a immaculate red early MG Metro in my side of town, he said it looks like a hand me down from a elderly relative, I must keep my eyes open for it.

Definately. I hope it has a nice arse, but what about the car? :P

Might help of I had posted the picture with my previous post, doh. :)

 - what was originally just going to be new rear suspension brackets turned out to include a decent amount of rear floorpan in the passenger side and a good bit of floorpan/inner arch on the right. The car passed its MOT today, apparently the tester was impressed.

Also been to the homebrew shop in York, there was a tidy Austin Ambassador for sale on the verge of the A59 on the way in. Other homebrew is now bottled/kegged, and I need to put a strong brew on for the winter.

Wilfred. What an excellent show, cringey and funny at the same time. My try and get hold of the Aus original because it is supposed to be better and funnier

Pillock... it was OK on emissions then? Amazing. It didn't knock fuck out of the big ends at least!

It's actually running really well - there's a bit of smoke on startup but nowhere near as bad as some diesels, and I only notice it now because there's been zero smoke since you fitted the engine. It is overdue a service though. It does stutter a bit the first time I hoof it in third, but then in all fairness that's usually 50 yards from my house at 6am ;)

Gonna run some injector cleaner through it on the next tankful and drop the oil, get around to doing the filter this time. It's just ticked over onto 149k and it was 144k when you slapped the engine in! It's certainly getting worked hard. Think the only under-bonnet thing that's going to need attention is maybe the alternator - there's a bearing-y noise from around that area, and the light sometimes does a little dance before going out for good. It's either that or the cambelt tensioner..... ;)

East Coast Timing Assn has moved from NC to Ohio for LSR events.

Boing!

They have secured use of the 9000-ft former DHL runway in Wilmington. Thus, the "Ohio Mile" LSR is born!

I am so going to be involved in this. It's a far closer tow to Wilmington than Bonneville. And the eats, hotels, and eye candy is about 100x better.

Gonna persuade them to adopt a 'shite' category?

"Spunkchops McAwesome today set a new Land Speed Record in the over two litre Shite Class, propelling his Ford Granada 2.3 L Diesel to 83.269mph in the standing mile. McAwesome has vowed to rebuilt the car in time for next month's meeting where he vows to smash through the 85mph barrier with the aid of some aerodynamic wheeltrims, and taking the toolbox and spare wheel out of the boot."

Can I enter an Avis rental into the event if I fly over and persuade Mrs Claim that this is a holiday of a lifetime?

And, while on a (nother bloody pointless) errand I chanced upon this, in glorious blotchy telephone-o-cam.

The spitting image of mine, but on an S plate. Interestingly it was badged 820Si, and I thought all the later 800s just said 800, like mine.

I wish I had been in mine so I could draw level, give a cheery wave and then blitz off in a cloud of KV6 headgasket particles, but alas I was in some kind of £45k kraut dullness.

I drew a car and tried to save it but failed emphatically :(

Hands up who didn't draw a cock?

My pork sword looked a bit more like a cock than I'd hoped. Not sure that counts.

I would have thought that was exactly how it should be?

I think a new grille is of Paramount importance.

I'm sure I should have some sort of award lying around for that pun...

I'll find out if we managed to source one in the morning, 5.30am start in this lumbering asthmatic beast... the joys of subcontracting to inconsiderate companies!

Bristol Palin. MMMM! I don't think I could resist the temptation to call her "Bristols".

Oh yeah, would.

You guys draw pictures of stickmen and obsess over their schlongs. And you crab at me like a certain pansy hermaphroditic RR Moderator for liking women? ....fricking weird joint.
