I'm grinning about this.

I may have a decent camera now, but the weekend was a firm reminder that there's nowt to match proper technique. Something I really don't have (Seth always makes me feel rather useless with his beautiful photography). So, to get one shot absolutely nailed and then get all arty with it has been a pleasure. To be fair to myself, this was my first motorsport event with a Digital SLR and they do take some getting used to. Many of my early shots were rubbish as I was still allowing for the shutter delay that I'd grown used to with non-slr digital. Was also difficult trying to match the pace of the subjects as some cars were barely moving and others were Bugatti Veyrons.

Nnnggh. That is bloody gorgeous. One of my favourite cars in one of my favourite colour schemes.

I really must get to Prescott / Goodwood / Le Mans sometime soon.

That pair above (Zenith and Tesla Talisman) are just perfect. What a collection you have there, great stuff.

Have you got any pictures of the EKCO A222? I don't think I've seen that model before. Ekco's were made just down the road from here din'cha know.

That's a class picture, really professional looking and has captured the subject perfectly.

Is everyone friendly enough now to not mind some sort of 'picture techniques' thread? Would love to be able to take that sort of picture on my new camera but struggling a bit at the moment. I think there are a few on here (Watanabe and yourself included DW) who could lead the way. Have grabbed a few pictures so far but nothing really car related so will post a few up when I get some if nobody minds.

An Ekco A22 in black is my ultimate radio. When I own one, my collecting days are over.

Go for it. I can't see how a thread on taking shots of shite could be construed as off topic. Photography wise it's Sony Ericsson W995 versus Nikon D70 at the moment. And I learn as I go along.

My first "Pay day" today in a long time now I'm back on a full time wage.

Most already earmarked for bills but nice to be able to pay stuff without struggling for a change.

No pay slip yet but going on the cash machine balance I've not paid any tax on it as it's more than I thought it would be.

Lack of tax = WIN :D

Just make sure IR don't bum you for it later on.

I have been there part time since December so don't think I've earned enough since I started to be anywhere near the personal allowance? :)

The return of Bricktop as Petes' avatar made me grin earlier.

Also, using an Ericsson A1018s CocaCola phone since my W995 got knicked the other day. I prefer simple things.

That hinged roof thing is cool as well. I incorporated one into a model I did for D&T years ago but my bone head teacher (who worked at Ford) said it was a shit idea and no manufacturer had ever done it. Ah well...
