What makes you grin? Antidote to grumpy thread

Two things making me grin, I past a C reg Vauxhall Cavalier saloon in china blue last night on the A12 with two mountain bikes strapped to the back, Though you couldn't see the rear lights or number plate, naughty naughty.

Then today i saw a N reg Escort Diesel which was as rotten as a pear and with mismatched bumpers towing a shitty looking caravan along the A12 with a stream of black smoke pouring out of the back of it. LIVIN THE DREAM.

Oh and another thing making me grin today is ride on lawnmowers.

My dad's recently bought a 3 year old one of someone he's knows for £50 as the clutch has gone on it, It cost this bloke over £900 from a catalogue, lasted a year before it broke, the catalogue wouldn't accept it back so it's spend the next 2 years in the back of a this blokes shed.

My dad's bought it, fixed it (Turned out to be a bend link or something) and i had a go at cutting his garden this morning.

WEEEEEEEE!!!!

Wheels Day 2011. What a turnout! Easily the best car show I have been to, without a doubt.

Could have been terrible though, there was literally miles of queues going into Rushmoor Arena, and quite a few cars couldn't take it, especially one Yank Tank which blew its radiator. My mates Zodiac (Aircraft Carrier), which I travelled in, also got fuel pumping issues and we actually pushed it to the front gate, where it decided to start up again. They are not light cars.

Wasn't it just! I got there at about 8.50 and had to queue for about 25mins to get in. Must have been crazy a little while later and cars were still rolling in after midday.

Got a wave from some geezer in a TR6 today, a few smiles and a 'tidy car' comment whilst out and about in the Cortina. Even the missus enjoyed it.

Is there a unit gathering soon?

I've not been to the unit yet, sounds like a plan one day. Plus I'm thinking the bodywork the Cortina needs might be better off done by young Mark.

I hope you ordered the kit required to prove that your car is patriotic.

Plenty of people do exactly that, conveniently remembering to buy a Birmingham-built BMW or Hyundai on which to put the kit... you see them every time there's an England footy match.

For those who don't know, that is played every night on BBC Radio 4 before the shipping forecast. I have never understood the terms used, but I find the voice reassuring. Radio 4 is over for the day, here's the National Anthem, GO TO BED!

I like Radio 4 (apart from The Archers and the unfunny topical comedy shows), it's like going to a sacred place where everything isn't commercially driven and a shit-pump for the braying masses.

I have had one of those "lucky days" today. Where everything goes right, or better than expected. Didn't get charged for the peanuts and M&M's from the mini-bar when I checked out this morning. No queues at security or immigration at the usually anxiety baiting Hong Kong airport. And now an upgrade to first class on an A380. Shame it's only for a 2 hour flight. Hope tomorrow is as good.

First full day at the Coal Face today (Bank Holiday to great...).

Customer gave me a £20 note for a "drink", I tried to refuse it more than once but took it rather than offend the guy.

Took it to the manger and explained it as to be honest I wanted nothing to do with, gratuities and all that malarky, nobody could decide what to do with it so it went in an envelope in the receiption

desk drawer.

Bit later the manager came and gave it to me as I've no log in for the system so the stuff I've sold earned me no comission, so popped out and bought everyone a Magnum lolly and stuck the rest in the Astra in diesel.

Holidays are great. Just come back from a week in Eygpt. First half of week was dead quiet and wonderful due to OMG REVOLUTIONZZZ Dive boats were empty and no screaming kids. Then come Thursday and all families turned up for Easter. Still was great overall :)
