I am happy because I no longer have any Triumph 1500 engines in my life. I put an ad up on the Club Triumph free parts section. One went within a few hours of the ad going up last Sunday and the other two went earlier this evening. No more oily boat anchors up the side of the house. Except for the B series thats there.

Also Mrs_Seth's birthday. I R EXPERT WRAPPER.

As I'm sure you can imagine she was overjoyed at the contents, they being a wheelarch, a pair of brake drums, a universal joint, an oil seal and a headlining.

this is making me grin this evening

Among Giants

Romantic drama about a gang of workers who go to paint the pylons that cross the Yorkshire Moors. When they are joined by an attractive backpacker, their camaraderie is shattered.

sounds a bit slushy but pete postlethwaite makes this drama a joy to watch

just spent the last 4+ hours annoying a troll on faecebook, using three different accounts to make sure she received lots on text alerts that her comments had been commented on, she has finally blocked two of the accounts, but still receiving phone messages about the other

Make a status post and tag her in it, but click the padlock/privacy thing and remove her from the list of people who can see it. She'll get email updates about it and all her mates will be able to see it on her wall, but she won't be able to see it on facebook to untag herself or delete it.

EDIT Ignore me, they've fixed it.

Car is now working properly, as confirmed by a detour this morning to give it an Italian tune up. Speaking of work, I finish on Friday and now have enough money to move back to Plymouth. All I need to do is find a job down there whilst living here and try to work out exactly what sort of career I need to take and where exactly my entire life is going................

Doesn't winding trolls up on Facebook make you a troll?

No, winding up trolls makes you either a Hobbit, or a billy-goat, depending on which books you read.

I've been needing a tow car for a while, and something cheaper to run than the Jag to use on a daily basis, so I took a bit of a chance today and bought an MOTless, LPG'd '97 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited 4.0.

Haggled significant amounts off the geezer selling it because it was MOTless, will be needing front tyres soon but it's taxed, very tidy and fitted with a proper Jeep towbar. Wasn't unbelievably cheap, and was more than most MOTless ones on ebay have been fetching lately, but it is a nice thing.

Then took it to the MOT station and kept my fingers crossed very tightly. Seemed to drive well enough, so shoved £20 worth of LPG in it and a tenners worth of petrol so I could make sure it's sweet enough on both. Which it is.

To the MOT station it is then.

45 minutes pass and so does the Jeep. Advisories on the front tyres, otherwise nowt wrong with it. A result as they say.

Now I've just got to leave it with the ignition on or running for two hours so I can enter the radio code :-|

normally i would agree with you, but this woman & her friend needed taking down a peg or two - they were being particularly horrible to a woman who had announced on her 'status' that she was pregnant

today i noticed the trolls account is account is suspended - so my trolling seems to have pushed her over the edge :D

Sliding skirts to first turbo champion - I'm sooo jealous! IIRC the only one I bought when it was current was around summer of '83, it had a Derek Warwick interview in it.

What makes me grin? All the sudden love for the FSO Polonez, as rescued by Richie G in another thread. I was there, boys; I saved one from scrap and loved it for almost two years after that. And given the current circumstances, it's quite possible I'll be able to do it all again. I'll be happy to, I think they're grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrreat!

The random bloke who noticed the Riva in the Aldi car park this morning. I saw him staring, so I looked earnestly at some bushes as I walked towards him (I really cannot be arsed talking to strangers before 9:30... or any other time, come to that) but he managed to ensnare me in conversation inside the doors.

Turned out he did actually know what he was taking about, and used to run a Wartburg many moons ago. He regaled me with tales of how he had to pump water out of the cylinders every 100 miles or so, but physically could not kill the engine. He genuinely thought the world of old Russian shite, and seeing my pile of scrap seemed to make his day :D

Also, my car is making me grin like a retard every time I look at it. I dare not explain further, as I fear the 'Shite Massive would heartily disapprove of my suspension-modifying activities, but I f**king loves it I do

Missus has decided to stop fighting a losing battle with me and given me a £1k car play budget for a year. Means I get to buy whatever I want within this money. It doesnt have to be sensible. I can have as much or as little as I want but it has to include reasonable servicing.

Insurance is likely to have to be traders one as I intend of milking as many cars as possible before she changes her mind. Just need to find a house that has a decent car space...

My complete 1989 collection of CAR magazine arrived today. I received a note today from the seller in the very well packed parcel. It read:

'I realised one of the magazines I've sent you has water damage, so by way of an apology I've sent you ten more back issues'.

He paid the extra postage the greater weight inevitably induced as well.

Decent feedback coming up for you old chum................

Minder repeats on ITV4. Wonderful shite spotting. The one on Tuesday had a minor crook named Monty Wiseman being driven around in a Vauxhall Royale - its colour was out of this world - a sort of Jewish racing gold with a hint of light green, and matching velour interior!

Mr Chisolm was in a red Cavalier Mk1, and Arthur's Series 2 XJ, dark blue, had been treated to a tan vinyl roof.

There was also an undertaker (played by Bernard out of Yes Minister) who had a black Bedford CF for coffin carrying duties.

Oh, and every second car is a Escort or Cortina!
