When I had the 120Y a group of kids walked past and one shouted "wow! Check out that mark 2 Escort!"

Remember someone on another forum getting the same response with a harvest gold Marina coupe

Once had someone approach the VDP at a show asking me if it was a cable change model, obviously mistaking it for a Maxi. Made a nice change from 'has it got the square steering wheel mate' comments though...

Ickle_Seth has returned from school, materials intact. Her bits of brass, aluminium, nylon and cast iron bars and rubber and hardwood were appreciated. I don't know if she mentioned seeing the mercury to them.

when I was young, my dad had a milk bottle-sized bottle of mercury - we used to play with it on a piece of paper and watch it roll about - prodding it with our fingers, etc! Bloomin heavy stuff though!

My insurance renewal came through..

would it just be greedy to try and get a better price than £105, (£50 excess)?

If you book three days holidays (26, 27, 28 April I think) you get 11 days off work with bank holidays and the Royal wedding. Happy days!

That sounds like a plan :)

Indeed and in spectacular 'first up, best dressed' fashion I have managed to score these days!

Right, back to grinning I trial ordered an Autoshite T-shirt from the calendar place...

Where I work, management have decreed that anyone who was in between Christmas and New Year gets first dibs on having those three days off. I was in, and intend to take advantage of the fact - the weather in April is likely to be far more suitable for shite-fixing than it was in late December.

DVLA has been trying to fine me £60 for not sending the V5 in registering my Carlsson. I sent it off and and either it got lost in the post or they have lost it.

I hate stuff like that so sent them a shitty letter back. This didn't work and so they sent another letter demanding that i pay the £35 or then they will go to court. Bollocks to that, I found some legislation on line bunged it in a letter basically saying that they have to prove I didnt send it and I will see them in court.

Today got a letter saying that they will be investigating it further and I will hear back :D I bet it means I will get a letter back saying no further action.

If anyone else has this problem then I can send you the relevant bits of law that you need to quote!

Had the Cambridge out today to do some work on when a random bloke and his family approched me and Dad saying he has a 1962 one sitting in his garage about a 5 minute walk away that he wants rid of asap. Can't really take on another car for now but if we can sell it for him he's promised us a share of the sale price. :D Here's a teaser shot...

I think there was a Corgi model Cambridge in that colour scheme.

There was definitely one in that colour with bumper-mounted L-plates and the driving-school's name on a big circular plinth on the roof, which also acted as a steering wheel 8)8) I had one when I were a wee scrote, for some reason I repainted it in grey with a cream stripe :? On reflection, it may have been a Dinky, not sure...

It was Corgi, I have several, including one I've had from new. Understandably that's had a lot of repainting! For the last 25-30 years or so it's been grey, to match 213 FUY, which we had when I was about 16.

Maybe, he didn't at all seem fussed about it getting bangered either, just whoever comes up with the asking price first gets it. Should be going over to get some more photos tomorrow.

What's the asking price? When was it last on the road?
