Tell me about it... I do hope that is what my roundabout technique looks like to others though.

PS, has the hillman got 2 wheels in the air on that pic?

To be fair, if somebody parked on my privates I imagine I would be pretty hacked off with them - I might even go so far as to write them an angry note.

Well, after months of arsing about researching and re-typing, the first section of the article i've been writing has just gone 'live'. I'm not usually one for self promotion, but if anyone wants to check it out they can do so here:

http://www.autopuzzles.com/forum/index.php?topic=14233.0

(It's about cars)

I'm not actually sure if you can see the images without signing up, but you can still enjoy my hugely informative and erudite prose about a subject probably less than 15 people care about.

Feedback welcomed, this is the most in-depth thing i've written since college!

Great stuff Barrett. I'd have thought there's a good basis there for an article in a "proper" magazine, if photo copyrights etc could be sorted (I've no idea what might be necessary). That Sommer one is stunning. 8)

Thanks Seth, that means a lot!

I'd like to get something in a mag, period photos from manufacturers(which I have had a right arseache trying to find, but magazines usually can) mostly dont have any copyright as they were intended for promotion purposes originally.

the trouble is, Jupiter expert Ed Nankervill is set to publish a weighty tome on the exact same subject next year, which contains 39 years or research! (when I heard this, I realised I might have bitten off more than I could chew...)

Hopefully, if feedback is good, I'll see if he'd like to co-author an article next year as a sort of promotional tool for the book, he seems like a nice chap and has been very encouraging to me on what must seem like a pretty light-weight article for him.

Some insightful and entertaining prose there Barrett.

Today I had a photo shortlisted in a competition I entered when bored. Could I be an epic bell end and ask you vote for me (if you want)? :D

Mine's the red leaf on the tarmac.

I know that spots without pictures are boring and useless, but when you see a MOSKVITCH ALEKO (!!!) on foreign plates in a horrible industrial-looking blue on your way home, it's worthy of note. If I ever see that parked up, there is absolutely no chance it will be getting away without a hand-written note asking/demanding for it to be transferred into my ownership in exchange for cash. Oh man!

Death Star Pumpkin. Mate of mine did it with his lad, and it made me LOL.

Oh, and an advert by an intelligent American.

Are you absolutely sure it wasn't an alpine? lol...

100% sure it was an Aleko, early "Alpine-look" sort.

Im grinning now because of a *very* near miss.. Conor spilt an entire cup of pop into his laptop last night....went in through the keyboard and it came poaring out the side, computer did an instant shutdown. I took the battery out, and left it upside down all day, took it to bits this evening (fearing the worst, obviously..) and apart from the keyboard (which is toast... very soggy toast) and the wifi config settings (which got corrupted during the shutdown) everything seems to have survived unscathed! Mainly down to the inteligent design of the keyboard - it has a solid base with a small drain slot in one corner (adjacent to the cooling vent on the side of the case) so all the liquid went straight out the side without hitting the motherboard. I presume the shutdown was initiated by the keyboard power shorting out. It's a toshiba NB200, and it's proving to be the toughest thing since the toughbook. If I did the same thing to the eeePC the fluid would drain straight through the keyboard and right onto the CPU.

so thank fuck for that. I can do without having to buy (yet another) PC for him....

Being offered what I wanted for my house. Considering I bought the house at the height of the housing market and 3 years later I am selling it on, the fact I havent lost any money makes me smile. Saying that a lot can go wrong before contracts are exchanged

I've just seen something amazingly shite outside my local pub, the one that has the Talbot Rancho outside, I'm not sure what it is though, it looked like a Simca from the front but it was long and possibly coupe so I'm guessing Fiat, the reg was something like UFG 71L.

Dam these dark mornings, I'll have to go up there later and get a photo.

Couldnt sleep last night, eventually nodded off at around 5am and woke up at 7:30am, (Cheers, Cat) opened the window to the whispering traffic sound of early morning commuters and a light cold breeze in the air, quite refreshing in the morning.

This little fella...

ollieandphoneslolocopteromgwtfetc006.jpg

...is making us grin more and more as the days go by. He's had a go at all three cats who now just look at him with total indifference, wind him up or put their paws in the air which makes him run a mile.

He's taken to single handedly trying to destroy the plants in the back yard: the day before yesterday he bought a small plant pot c/w plant into the house and ran round with it in his mouth, last night he pulled a plant clean out of the pot and pegged it round the front room dropping soil and leaves everywhere :D
