What makes you grin? Antidote to grumpy thread

I had a top weekend, went round a mates house with loads of people (all of whom I know really well) and had a really good time. These past few weeks have been so good, thankfully! Also today, I helped her Boyfriend (also a friend) with his XR3i, the same one sold on ebay by a member on here (I forget your name, sorry), as the replacement exhaust was grinding against the floor when the suspension was bottoming out. The old one had been blowing due to a pretty poor backbox replacement. We managed to get the exhaust higher, but its now vibrating against the car! To be fair, i think the new exhaust is shoddy and its quite heavy as well. Sounds good, and I got a 20 mile ride in it. Thats probably the oldest car I have been in for a while. I also got a ride in a MKII Fiesta, that engine note brought back many memories. I have to say, the rear seats in an XR3i are really, really comfortable.

Working out what Scaryoldcortina is playing here.

I knew it had an early 70s feel but I couldn't quite place it. Mrs B got it right away though. :D

I don't know which is worse, the fact that I posted that on youtube or the fact that I went home and figured out how to play it properly  Never mind, makes a change from bagpuss :)

Many thanks to Mr and Mrs Cav_Estate for sorting out my new TV, 20 inches of CRT class! I can't resist "rescuing" old technology.

Despite how it looks there, the picture quality is absolutely spectacular for an old RF-input job, no colour bleed! Amazing. Nice weighty "thunk" noise when you turn it on using the (metal) remote control. And woodgrain all over the joint! The best thing is I can pipe all my old rubbish TV shows onto it and pretend that X-Factor and The One Show haven't been invented yet.

Steve Berry on Jeremy Vine's R2 show amused me.

Hirst, I like the television. I was offered it myself but unfortunately had to turn in down on space issues.

Signed up for some sort of fantasy football thing a while back with a national paper, made a daft username and forgot about it.

Missus sent me a text message at work today asking why I had a letter addressed to me which had a name on it that she'd 'like to speak to me' about.

Racking my brains but couldn't think, so she told me who it was adressed to:

'Doctor Billathy Largecock' :o

No, she wasn't amused.

That is fantastic. I've got a lovely mid-80's 15" Ferguson in beige plastic with a metal remote control that's about 2" thick! I love old audioshite - got several old radios too 8)

Also Cavette, that ^^^ made me burst out LOLing

I bought the complete Minder series box set a few days ago on ebay for £35, It came through yesterday so i have been spending my time watching it, I love all the old cars in the background, I've not seen any Opels like mine yet but saw a old Galant like Hirsts old one and a Roadline lorry.

I was watching a eposide called "Come in T-64, Your Time is Ticking Away" where Terry has to take the part of a taxi driver after some teenage "heavys" start duffing up the other drivers, He has a knackered old Austin A55 Cambridge/Morris Oxford to use complete with roof rack and dents, it was ace!

And seeing a yellow Rover SD1 3500 - BFB 445V, being driven around with a rather Autoshite looking bloke inside... made me grin today.

Think i know where he lives, i'll drop him an Autoshite sticker !
