There's a completely useless NSL sign on my way to work. I'd be tempted to grab it to do the same, but I can barely tell the time on an analogue clock on account of dyslexia or something so it's no use to me.

It's here. Serves no purpose, it's NSL both sides of it for miles.

Saturday I bought an old computer keyboard on eBay, £7 postage. Alright, it's a specific model I've wanted to try for a while. Pay right away, and the seller messages me, thanks I'll send it Monday afternoon.

Lunchtime today he messaged me, the postage was only £4.95, do you want the extra £2.05 sending back to the PayPal you paid with?!

Bloody hell, eight years on eBay and I've never seen that happen.

My car broke 60 mpg today in the 1 year I've owned it. Got 61 mpg to be precise. Might have to fix the damn thing and keep it if this continues. And treat it to some non rusty wings.

I pass this regularly too, staveley to eckington road. There is one on the other side of the hamlet going the other way too. I think there is supposed to be a drop to 30mph whilst you go past the houses and the off camber s bend but they haven't put the signage up

Given that I'm usually bloody awful at betting and haven't a clue about Irish football, I'm quite happy tonight

Went out with a girl this evening, typical first date stuff.

Liked the Rover, bit of a chat about cars and she said 'all Vauxhalls are shit' of her own accord!

I got my hands on a Yamaha guitar for £20 as there was a major fault with it as it wouldn't tune and stay in tune. Looking at it I couldn't see how there could be too much wrong so took a punt. A quick strip and clean showed that the springs underneath needed adjusting and now all is well.

The guy is leaving the country so needed to clear out and mentioned he had some other stuff going, £12 got me a quality tuner, stand, set of new strings, a winder tool AND this amp:

I just can't believe it, after feeling shit about the news about my eye yesterday, this has really cheered me up no end! (All his prices, not mine by the way and a really nice bloke as well).

Is that an RGX321. I had one as my second guitar and loved it. Never went out of tune and apart from terrible pickups, it did me well for years, if you ever come to sell it?

Not sure of the model, but if you want to make an offer ;-)

Not really sure if this is a grin or a grump really, but did my first day of a new job today. Pretty simple on paper, move new cars around Sheerness docks and spend the day training. In reality it was a load of forms, a quick drive around, check I could park in a space then being given the keys to dozens of new Peugeots and Citroens, followed by people getting annoyed that I didn't instantly find loading bay 245/82/LL by myself. Plus they're now talking about 6am starts and 10 hour days. I appreciate there are plenty of people out there, and on this very forum, who do such hours, just after always doing office jobs and having had a few months off it's come as a bit of a shock to the system. Plus I feel horribly out of place sitting in a canteen full of grizzled tattooed dockers. But it's a job, and I need to pay the bills somehow

Good on you, chief, you'll soon settle in and best of luck.

Some lady asked if anyone did rubbish clearing on facebook, and posted a picture if a small pile of garden pots, bags if old pillows and a burnt out dc04... I messaged her and am taking it to the tip at the weekend for her and she told me to take the dyson tonight so it's of her way.

£20 for helping an old lady out and a free dyson. Looking at the pile of stuff not all of it will go to the top, theres some nice pots in the pile, and amys sister is always after old quilts for the dogs to lie on...

Excellent! I did time as a car auction driver shunting stock at the largest one in Scotland - wage is never great, but the banter is magic- good luck and enjoy!

Get some tattoos done with your first pay packet, or maybe someone in the canteen could do them for you, biro blue is always a good colour ;)

Don't take the tattoos at face value- usually one or two FUDS, but the rest of the folk are "solid guid cunts" to use the vernacular.

I got asked to do a wedding in the Mercury by a colleague today!

He said it's a beautiful car and ideal (being a big 4 door) for weddings, and they're using a green theme for the day so it'll be perfect. I think he wants to come look at the car with his soon to be wife but they're both really keen on using it!

I'll just need a suit, stupid chauffeurs hat and some ribbons tying on the front! Should be a good day!

Found an unmolested 67k MK5 Transit, in a hidden away from anywhere scrappy I know.

Had an immaculate steering wheel, still with the grain of the quality plastic, and the bumper corner I need. Bought one from central panels but it was black, advertised as textured grey, like it should be. Anyway, the one I salvaged will match the other side in age related dullness so all good.

Going back with more tools to get the exhaust manifold and possibly fuel pump and injectors for imminent turbo conversion.

What links Norfolk and Las Vegas?

They are both places you buy sex with chips.

Some old chod in the prestigious* MG showroom in London's Piccadilly. Jubilee edition TF from the "heritage fleet".

They must have to sell about 10,000 MG3s just to pay the rent on this place. Out front is a tramp, and bin bags presumably full of bits of plastic trim they found on the showroom floor.

I was at my mums earlier going through some old photos of my dad to see which ones id like to keep, i found a couple of pictures of old motors he had there should be more somewhere but they will have to be found, one of which was my favourite cars he ever had his mk4 cortina just thought I'd share with everyone

His avenger

20170315_184013_zpssmeei0xc.jpg

His ambassador with him in it i remember helping him take the head off this when it had omg hgf, a bonus j plate iirc nova saloon in the neighbour's drive

Last but not least his mk4 cortina started life as a 2.3 ghia, dont be fooled by its looks many people were, it had a tuned rebuilt 2.8 carb v6 under the bonnet with a 4 speed and he did something with the diff as well, he worked on the mechanicals making them perfect, the wheel condition may give a little inkling, the doors bonnet and boot were all rotten so suitable scrap yard replacements were put on all differing colours, the boot even had a 1.6 badge, and then there was the roof rack, this lulled people into a false sense of security, he loved racing people in this car and not even the police could catch it back in the day, from what i remember it went like absolute stink

There was many more cars that i can remember mostly fords, if i can find them ill share those as well
