Its the phone equivalent of being offered a Samsung Galaxy S3 with broken screen and Rare new £5 note with AL73 serial number when you have a car for sale.

It's a video streamer commonly used by people to not pay for content.

Retinal photography. I had one done during my eye test last week. I did wonder why they bent me over a chair to take it.

Ah, my dad had that- my grandmother had glaucoma so he's at risk. So far I'm the only one in the family with perfect sight.

Today's grin/ relief moment was at work when after an hour or so of fiddling with our older ICP_OES analyser to get it to ignite the plasma realised we hadn't turned the main (30KV) power on! Doh! At least we realised in time to cancel the call out from the engineer ( £150 an hour including travelling!)

Things have come on a bit since I started having eye trouble 25 years ago. There was a picture of a pair of eyes in the notepad and the eye specialist had to colour it in with colouring pencils.

Scrolling through one of my old phones just now and was reminded of an amusing text message exchange I had whilst selling the E3 a few years back.  I say exchange, but it was a bit one-sided.

Weekday, so I'm at work, and can't answer my phone.  Got a couple of missed calls from an Irish chap who I'd spoken to previously and sent some photos to.  Then at 15:37 he sends a text - "Hi Dave, please can u call me back...".  Another missed call, then at 17:53 (so 7 minutes before I got out of work) another text message.  A shorter one this time.  "WANKER!!!"

Needless to say I didn't return his calls, and I didn't sell him the car.

I drove over the Forth Road Bridge a week or so ago for the first time in forever.

It's quite cool seeing three generations of bridges beside one another. The 1890s cantilever rail bridge, 1960s suspension job and the new Queensferry cable-stayed example.

I'm a very easily impressed man.

Passed over the road bridge at night last week. The new crossing looked phenomenal illuminated by the work lights

Passed over the road bridge on Wednesday evening in a contraflow heading home, the new bridge is really distracting when trying not to crash into oncoming traffic!

Driving up the M1, to be overtaken by a Rover 75 with a tiny Webasto roof... Followed by a brown MGB GT with a Webasto roof.

It is a Nexus 4 smartphone. All boxed and good condition, up at £65 on gumtree but would take £50 as the money is going towards new wings for the Shuma.

Early or late 75? Suppose it was late if it overtook you.

I drove over the middle one last month, the new one is very Milau-y, which isn't a bad thing.
