I rang DVLA just now.

Spoke to a real, polite person.

Glad I was sitting down!

I also rang DVLA yesterday to ask, out of interest just why the Oldsmobile didn't show up on the online database. "Vehicle not found".

It clearly exists and has a V5c.

After a few questions to determine I was genuine I got the answer.

"Yes, the car is all fine and registered with us. Don't worry about it not showing up online, it happens occasionally. The system can be a bit crap at times. Everything is ok."

It will look even better with multi coloured princess and a half and maybe an engine or two scattered about as garden ornaments.

I was gonna ask the same. Bit posh innit!

Vulg! That house looks lovely. Driveway and a garage. Swine!

Is this the new gaff?

To answer you all, yes, this is the new place.  It's jolly nice, or at least it will be once I've finished working my magic on the garden.  We have a real, actual, genuine curtain twitcher across the street who actually, really and genuinely twitches her curtains whenever Chompy turns up.  Her house may well catch fire from the frantic curtain twitching when my old wrecks start to appear.

What I really need on the drive is a mustard Volvo 140 estate and for Mike to change his name to Jerry.

I'm sure that will be fine when you get pulled over at 10pm on a rainy Sunday night and an arsey copper wants to impound your car.

Agreed. Although the chap did say he would 'look into it and update the system'. So far he hasn't updated it. Will see. Although the car will not be on the road for a while as yet.

Was it Michelle? I spoke to her this morning. Very helpful indeed.

The 500 was picked up today, so I went out in the 205 for the first time in a couple of weeks and I have been reminded what a fine little car it is to drive, with as good an auto box as I have ever experienced :-D

The older of the 2 Essexman jnrs is approaching 2 and he's starting to pick up more words, last week, as we got into the 166- a new one- "ALFA" made me smile!

Tomorrow I'll be in a cosy cottage with kinky girl. There will be fun and no work. And maybe no injury.

Back ready for action. I've been told it's a romantic weekend away, and not a porn-y one.

Was dropping the dog off at the vets to have his testicles removed. An emotional time for us all, but this improved our mood slightly:

Dog was laughing his head off!

Well following me earlier in the week quick oil change on the Scooby which was anything but quick and where i managed to splosh old engine oil everywhere, i came back from walking the dogs this morn so with a warm engine on the Landcruiser and a dryish driveway decided to give that a change too.

Fully expected a repeat performance of earlier, however no need to jack it up, so left the bash plate in place and went for it, oil came straight down though the cut out in the plate and into the draining can not a drop spilled, 1 minute empty, turned the front wheels hard left lock, unclipped lifted the rubber dust flap on the inner wing, fed me strap wrench on 2ft of extensions though the gap gripped the filter quick ratchet undone and thats off, new filter on, approx 7 litres new Morris' oil in, start up check no leaks, wipe down, job done in 15 mins flat from start to finish.

All cars should be like this.

Ruby the bonkers Cocker Spaniel came bounding back from the woods with half a rabbits insides down her gullet and the messy remnants hanging from her chops all attached by gut...had to stand on the remnants so she could back off and pull the crap out of her stomach...why are dogs so bloody crackers?

No harm, this is a Cocker that thinks it a Labrador eating machine, she's a little pig but looks like like butter wouldn't melt.

Had a signed for letter.

"Nothing good ever comes from a signed for letter" thought I.

In it was 20 quids worth of vouchers because I bought some tires.

Happy days.

Last nights' work Christmas do was truly splendid - Free bar all night, 5 course dinner, casino, dodgems, burlesque show and disco followed by a night in the local Hilton to spare me the 50 mile trip home...happy days.

And as it's payday I braved the Black Friday crowds and treated myself to a new watch :)
