That has some absolute COMEDY GOLD in where Cockson is talking about the Z**ira and he says "so why aren't we seeing these everywhere? What's wrong with it?"

*the camera pans in on the the badge*

then he says "yeeeeeeees, it's a Vauxhall. An eight track badge in a CD-ROM world".

I watched it about 10 times in a row and LOL'd muchly.

At least the lady parts are intact ☺

I'm going to be weighing in a ZX Volcane in the next couple of days, need any free bits?

Oooh I have a long, long list, one of which is an exhaust but I wont expect you to post that!

May I trouble you for the rear wiper motor? Ive fucked the thread on my shank so a new nut wont do it, and with the nights bringing condensation its a bit missed! Postage and whatever you want for it paid up obv

Posted

I don't want anything for it,

Got loads of ZX bits, a few years back a bunch of us used to run them, all on veg and most were stripped before they went. Probably got an exhaust but there were a couple of slightly different designs!

Posted

Ah, I didnt know there were different designs, just d or td (i think/thought the estate and hatch are the same length)

Would you have an accelerator cable lying around? Mine isnt the correct length after its bodge, and im convinced it could work better. Centre console that fits around the handbrake? Drivers side wing mirror?

None of its urgent, just what my baby addled brain can remember ive thought of before

Posted

Yes I'm sure I've got all that. I may be talking out of my arse as its been a few years but I think there were 2 different bores on the exhaust?

Posted

Aah, that will make things tricky then. Watching one for £51 on ebay, and was just gonna hope it would fit!

Thanks very much! Let me know how much postage is, no rush though! Nkt thinking of mine for now, the meriva needs an mot by thr 6th, not even text my mate yet

I'll ask my friend the ZX guru. He has two three doors, his and hers. There isn't much he doesn't know about these. He spend last weekend putting a 6 speed box in one so you get the level of enthusiasm...

I'll sort out the bits, just have a think what else you need, no rush they aren't going anywhere

This site is pretty good for working out which parts fit what. https://www.buypartsby.co.uk/I don't think they specifically tell you the bore of a system but you can suss it out from the clamps.

I've bought a couple of cheap exhausts from an eBay seller that claimed to be in Germany but the exhausts came (very quickly indeed) from Poland, both of them requited a bit of modification to fit.

You can get a 6 speed box to fit? Ive heard a 206 5 speed bolts on, a 6 speed box must help the economy out a treat on a run, was doing 80 earlier at 3k rpm

And a Transit injection pump, along with a BMW turbo, special head bolts from America etc...

Spent thousands.. Seems pointless to me but there you go ☺

Got a call from Mike earlier tonight telling me that the house move is closer to sorted.  The pesky piece of paper the landlord wouldn't give us has been WORKED AROUND so now we're just waiting on approval of our guarantor's details, which won't be an issue as he has an excellent credit rating and decent income.  This is balanced out by horrible neighbour child screaming and kicking the walls (which is a new thing) so badly I had to leave my own house to get away from it.  The eleven bin bags of household rubbish filling their backyard is beginning to get a little ripe too, which is a nice thing to wake up to in the morning.

Had  a Hidden chuckle today at Morrison's  , parked next to an old giffers Sierra and some bloke was commenting on how crap Sierra's  were, as said old giffer approached his car

''what car you got mate?'' he shouted as he pulled up with his trolley - ''that Mokka over there''

''Which one mate they all look the bloody same to me -  and mine has better rear view vision but thanks for knowing what my car was mind''

Giffer rules!!

Blimey, a Mokka owner calling something else crap, my irony-o-meter has just blown up.

I'm always surprised by the number of people who will voice their unwanted opinion about how rubbish my cars are. I already had one guy at tescos say loudly to his mate that the scorpio won an award for being crap and ugly. I got the last laugh though because he was driving a bloody picasso.

I've just rang a place asking if he could supply dust seals or rebuild my AP racing calipers on the daily, and the bloke was absolutely fucking top notch and rather than just say "yes, £200 each" he asked what my problems were and basically told me how to fix the caliper for free - Apparently you just get a build up of aly corrosion behind a stainless steel wear plate and it binds up the pads, but unless you know what you're looking for it looks like a stuck piston.

Anyway mega thumbs up to http://www.godspeedbrakes.co.uk/

This has been my company's "Month of Service", when we're all encouraged to donate a day of our time to a worthy cause. I spent the day helping out at a farm for special needs kids and absolutely loved it

Replacing the inlet manifold gasket on the Rover has improved my fuel consumption (no surprise there).  I'm getting about 36mpg mostly around town, that's just silly!  I hardly ever put petrol in the thing, it doesn't use any.  I'm going to reward it with some new tyres.  I need to put new tyres on after setting off from a damp junction and after I'm moving the front wheels span up which is ridiculous, and it then understeered as I got into the corner and oversteered as I got control of that all at speeds under 15mph.  These tyres are SHIT.

There's a grey Mk1 Sierra I sometimes see around town. This week he may have accidentally* got a bit sideways on a wet roundabout. :)
