KruJoe Posted August 21, 2014 Posted August 21, 2014 I thought you'd enjoy that. Have another: Which one should I submit to the calendar thread - first or second? vulgalour, Semi-C, Inspector Morose and 6 others 9
dollywobbler Posted August 21, 2014 Posted August 21, 2014 First one has more impact. Second one is impressive for the 205 tow vehicle though! cms206 and Ghosty 2
Jimcit Posted August 21, 2014 Posted August 21, 2014 First one does look like some kind of rocket launch. Reminds me of a budget version of this: Junkman and Wilko220 2
NorfolkNWeigh Posted August 21, 2014 Posted August 21, 2014 Yesterday I saw 3 men escape death (possibly)M11 ,lane 3 ,70 mph possibly plus the statutory 23% allowed* by law. In front of me is a tatty Sprinter LWB, heavily laden and at terminal velocity for a rusty 55 plate Sprinter. He had just passed the lorries in lane 1 and 2 and I was thinking about a flick of the indicator or flash of lights to remind him I was late for a Stansted pickup .Then, you you know how sometimes you fantasise about having steering wheel controlled machine guns to clear the fast lane? Well it was like I did, the offside rear tyre of the Sprinter disintegrated ,causing the van to hit the central barrier ,very hard, then bounce across all 3 lanes and hard shoulder hitting the Armco that was protecting a drop of about 30 feet. It flattened about 100 yards of this barrier ripping off the near side wheel in the process,it then lurched up onto its offside wheels and swerved back into lane 2 before the driver regained control and steered onto the hard shoulder. How it stayed upright during all this,I can only attribute to it's apparently overloaded state, or possibly it was being driven by Mark Higgins .All 3 lanes had come to a halt and the motorway was covered in gravel, bits of tyre and random Sprinter parts, the driver got out white faced( which was surprising ,because he was black) waved , gave a thumbs up and everyone just accelerated away. It did make me think it was probably just as well I hadn't decided to undertake it, and that Sprinter man should buy a lottery ticket tonight. trigger, Junkman, jonathan_dyane and 9 others 12
mercrocker Posted August 21, 2014 Posted August 21, 2014 I never fail to be amazed at the blind faith with which disintegrating Sprinters are driven, flat out....They are the new Cortina Estate (the only vehicle my traffic-cop Uncle used to say overtook his jam sandwich BMW in zero visibility and six inches of rain....)
bub2006 Posted August 21, 2014 Posted August 21, 2014 Vauxhall astra for sale at local used car dealer. P reg LS trim i think. Price in window? £995. Made me lol did that.
Junkman Posted August 21, 2014 Posted August 21, 2014 After a long and colourful succession of tatty Puntos and Rover 25s,my gifferdom bordering next door neighbour has now outshited himself. Mr_Bo11ox Posted August 21, 2014 Posted August 21, 2014 I've been wearing my new 'Ipswich park & Ride' clip-on bus driver tie to work today, every meeting I have been in has had 10 minutes lost out of it while folk check it out, have a laugh at it, ask why/where I got it, and think up 'amusing' work situations in which it could participate. Been in 4 meetings so thats 40 mins of work time that I have been able to chill out and bask in the glory of rocking the bus driver look. YES Conrad D. Conelrad, phil_lihp, AnthonyG and 15 others 18

Hertz Posted August 21, 2014 Posted August 21, 2014 Just made it down to Winchester ready for a car meet on Saturday at Goodwood. This is the longest trip I have done in the car (200 miles) since dragging it out of the garage I found it in after 6 years off the road. This made me grin, how small does the Alpine look next to the Focus spike60, phil_lihp, Junkman and 18 others 21
TimothyClaypole Posted August 21, 2014 Posted August 21, 2014 Are those Princess lights the same as these?
vulgalour Posted August 21, 2014 Posted August 21, 2014 Princess lights have a squarer, shallower back plate, different retaining bezels and not so large a step in height between the lights. So they're almost exactly the same apart from everything about them. myglaren, cms206 and mat_the_cat 3
Junkman Posted August 21, 2014 Posted August 21, 2014 No, I'm in Aberdeen. I'm pretty sure there is an Ovlov estate for you out there somewhere.
