Haven't watched this one yet, but such a good channel - well researched and interesting topics.

Some might appreciate the Licence Plate.

My that was technical for kids. Some things must have gone right over their heads. It must have been filmed before 1983 because they did not use seat belts in the front of the Transit during filming.

Thanks for posting a little gem.

My pleasure! Glad you enjoyed it! Yes I wondered about the seat belts too! 😎

My mate got asked to film this amazing 'garage' find recently, he's now uploaded the video, it's definitely worth a hour of your time to watch

Some grossly unsuitable choices for a gravel road hillclimb, but it doesn't seem to stop them...😂

from 2:30, it's 1989 and Clive James goes on a hairy drive around Paris in a Citroen AX on loan from the company with novelist François Sagan. Both no longer with us.

More Clive James at the first 1981 Caesar's Palace grand prix, ends up doing a practice lap with Piquet chasing Andretti in Datsun Z car.  Concrete walls and few off zones...

Thanks for this, never seen it before. So Clive James supposedly learned to drive in a 'TWC.' Sir Stirling plays an excellent straight man too, what a delight seeing the old boy thrash a new XJ40 about.

The very same XJ40 used in a December 1986 road test in 'Motor' magazine uploaded to Flickr by @triggerI think...

Cameos from Blackadder, Prost/Senna and James Hunt too.

The celebrity race did seem like real racing too.

All in all an hour well spent :-)

Only if you get the Roy Hattersley puppet from Spitting Image and do the whole thing as him, Doug impersonations too, because that is the particular puppet that rubber faced clown reminds me of.

Interesting to see how bodged the Beetle, Morris 1000 and Fiat 500 were.

Really like Al's videos, nicely presented and he has a yard that I'd love to.rummage around in.

Blokes like him, with his knowledge and hands on skills, are a dying breed. Made more obvious when he says he cannot find a decent apprentice.

Not sure if £7,500 for that Moggy is priced right, but seeing as the structure will last another 50 years now, it might well be.
