Cavcraft Posted April 4, 2018 Author Posted April 4, 2018 ^^^ That picture is straight out of one of my daydreams. May I be nosy and ask the plan for the ST170? 1) You need help 2) Plan was to keep it long term until it 'does an Escort Mexico' and makes me rich. 3) Unsure if I'll live to 183. Supernaut, The Moog, Lacquer Peel and 4 others 7
mrbenn Posted April 4, 2018 Posted April 4, 2018 1) You need help Yeah. My therapist says I'm making excellent* progress.... Jim Bell, Cavcraft and The Reverend Bluejeans 3
Guest Hooli Posted April 5, 2018 Posted April 5, 2018 Of course it's completely out of fashion now, however its historic in that it symbolises the Max Power generation. Give it another 10-15 years when my generation (who was the Max Power gen) grow to middle aged, this will be in massive demand. I am the Max Power generation, I bought the copy with Project Thunder in! It looks shit & needs killing with fire - so yeah ya right some middle aged idiot will buy it as they can't find a Regier F40 kitted XR3i to relive their yoof. Cavcraft 1
SherpaMog Posted April 5, 2018 Posted April 5, 2018 Was project thunder yellow? If so I bought that issue. Fuck knows what the car was, Vauxhall Carlton? I'm not googling it through principle.
Guest Hooli Posted April 5, 2018 Posted April 5, 2018 Was project thunder yellow? If so I bought that issue. Fuck knows what the car was, Vauxhall Carlton? I'm not googling it through principle. Yup yellow Carlton Lotus rep with a 3.0 (bored to 3.6 maybe?) turbot, slower than the real LC obviously. IIRC it used four front wheels as doing the bodywork to fit the even wider rears cost too much. I believe it ended it's days through a shop window later that year. RoadworkUK 1
RoadworkUK Posted April 5, 2018 Posted April 5, 2018 I believe it ended it's days through a shop window later that year. It was 'Dr Rock's' music shop in Peterborough. It ended its physical days being crushed in Max Power's 'wheel of death' strand.
Cavcraft Posted May 20, 2018 Author Posted May 20, 2018 Hmm, spots this very cheap (for one of these) start price, no reserve and sends aa polite message to vendor. Less than two hours later, it's happy days.... Straight as a dye from what we can see, mileage good for age and allegedly* drives nicely. It says 'Quattro' on the back, fair to assume it's 4x4 or were they all anyway? It was ridiculously cheap, from what I can make out these things normally go for. Skizzer, Louise2cv, Lacquer Peel and 22 others 25
chaseracer Posted May 20, 2018 Posted May 20, 2018 This can only end well*. Cavcraft, egg and binhoker668 3

skattrd Posted May 20, 2018 Posted May 20, 2018 They weren't all quattro, the badge might just be stuck on.I'm not sure how to tell if it is a factory one without looking for propshaft or at the rear axle. Any joy from the V5/VIN or putting the reg in a search? Sometimes catell.ie or similar can give the declared model. To find out if 4x4 works try setting off hard on loose surface and see which wheels spin Cavcraft 1
cobblers Posted May 20, 2018 Posted May 20, 2018 Just look under the back, you'll see a diff or you won't see a diff. Anyway I think these are gonna be a good one to stuff in a barn somewhere too. I remember how amazing they were when they were new, my mums boyfriends cousins wife who was a millionaire gave me a lift to my saturday job in one when I was about 15, it blew my mind especially compared to the mk3 escort my mum drove. RoadworkUK Posted May 20, 2018 Posted May 20, 2018 If it's got twin exhausts, it'll be quattro. The 150ps FWD version had single pipes. Edit - Flip me! "Cheers....V5 new keeper's bit says 'TT Quattro (225BHP)'" That'll be the full-house version then! 225bhp is only a start point should you be so inclined. Cavcraft and cobblers 2
Split_Pin Posted May 20, 2018 Posted May 20, 2018 I really fancy one of these. Pity you always find buyers for cars so easily, otherwise I would have 3 randoms!
SherpaMog Posted May 20, 2018 Posted May 20, 2018 If it ain't rusty as fuck, in my experience, these are good cars. Spares easy to come by, but I didn't need much
Craig the Princess Posted May 20, 2018 Posted May 20, 2018 TT roffle? Please. Pretty please. With a Focus on top. Floatylight, Aston Martin and loserone 3
