Bought a minging derv estate for £almost nowt and it's actually pretty good. I've sold 1:18 models for more than this 1:1 scale car cost me.

FATHA_DUG needs a 'disposable car' to help with some house renovation - I might just keep it.

It cost me £100 and did 202 miles fully loaded on £15's-worth of diesel. There's an amp and sub box in the load bay that will sell for more than I paid for it. I also got two spare wheels with it.

It has snails in the door shut. I have not cleaned them off. Running costs so far: a new bulb.

Can't turn down free pallets, so the XM got a good workout today. It was working hard enough on the hills to start making that horrible oil-burny smell that suggests that all the leaked oil is burning off the hot surfaces of the engine, though thankfully the temp gauge stayed resolutely sensible.

The trailer hitch seems a bit loose though. It knocks around an awful lot - though less once the trailer was laden.

Can you cook the snails in garlic and enjoy a nice meal to gain further from this wagon of wonder?

Anyhow I figured I had little to lose by taking the valve off and cleaning it out, and hopefully it would solve the problem.

It was a touch on the mucky side of shipshape and shiny:

I cleaned up, whacked it back on and it still doesn't work :( Lost the P0406 code but the P0404 remains. Symptoms as above, sluggish and slow and then all of a sudden it picks up.

Sorry if I'm late to the party (especially if I'm also wrong), I'm a few days behind the end of this thread, but is that picture of an EGR missing a butterfly? If so, could explain the continued symptoms.

No , the rod goes through to a small butterfly mounted at a jaunty angle in the other orifice .

Two MOTs booked tomorrow - one to get the Saab road legal again, and one to find out exactly how much misery the 406 Coupé is going to inflict on me.

If it fails I'll just polish it and park it where I can see it from my office, like a lump of yellow artwork.

I panicked when I saw that too, but nope as above its hiding under all the cack in the smaller hole.

Holy christ, you BOUGHT that banana 406? Nice one! WNT_A_GO_PLS

I wish! It's a ZX TD estate. Best case scenario: I fizz up the sill, sort the brakes and keep it as a WBoD back up. Worst case, I pull the engine out and use it in the KNOB_VAN when it comes off its sabbatical. It's minging inside and has a pair of skinny Berlingo alloys on the front because it was sitting on a mixture of 14" and 15" wheels and tyres. I got torque steer on the entry slip between Toddington Services and the M25. I told Evo but they weren't interested, not even Troy Queef.

Coming round? KNOB_VAN is diesel, C4 is diesel, ZX is, er.........diesel ;)

MGF is diesel, once you fit that TUD out of a Metro diesel you've been promising it.

One can drink too much from the black pump. Piazza might as well be a diesel; the engine's rough enough.

I've just put a bid in on ANOTHER bloody Peugeot.

Another 205 TD. If I win this one I am in trouble with my financial advisor and the Mrs, who both happen to be the same person. Oh crap.

Bloke come today to assess* the Frontera after it got hit up the arse about a week ago.

He took a few pictures all around it but didn't look underneath except a half arse effort where he didn't even bend his knees.

I know it was only hit on the tow bar Hut how does he know it's not kippers the chassis? (it hasn't, there's sod all wrong with it)

Says the insurance will be in touch but thinks it might need a new tow bar. No it doesn't, and good luck finding one that fits if they insist

I have confessed my sins and been mildly chastised by herself.

Could have been worserer.

Looking on the front page, I am apparently the only person on here who is using Internet Explorer to view the forum.  Hmm.

http://www.w3schools.com/browsers/browsers_stats.asp

IE has had no more than 10% of the web browser market share for nearly two years, get with it!

(From personal experience all the people left using IE are actually qualified in IT, often with PhDs...)

A few people are apparently using a dinosaur's head to view the forum.

I have to confess I've been using  a user agent overrider to mask my actual browser.

You've probably been browsing on a Vic-20 that you made a WiFi card for out of an old potato and a CB Radio.

Benz is back, my indy managed to get hold of a used drive shaft which (i, the lead booted one) snapped last week.

Bleedin expensive month, new gas boiler, new carpets going in Friday, could have done without the broken half shaft.

In other news, daughter came round so i could service her Civic today, job done...its a nice motor to work on apart from where they sited the bloody oil filter which is a sod to get at, and she's took her two new Uniroyals with her to get fitted during the week.
