Do you know where to buy the dye?

The wheel on mine is starting to look a bit worn and I was hoping to have a go at getting it back up to scratch. I am just finding it difficult to get a dye in the same colour as the steering wheel.

I think there is still a seller on eBay who does both the smoke stone and sandstone dyes - at least that’s what i’m Banking on!

I think the silver SLK can go. Twingo is back on the road this afternoon, I have yellow, and I have my truck.

The Cavalier needs a new rear silencer.  I'm trying to find a decent one that isn't shit.  Can anyone recommend brands to go for/avoid?  My last few experiences of buying exhausts off eBay hasn't been great with the baffles going within months.

Is there a Stainless place near you that does performance exhaust as the one nearest me that I discovered was cheaper for stainless than going to kwick fit for a normal one!

Sounds like a cherry bomb at the moment....although I lobbed some P40 over the hole previously, a terrible bodge that actually worked for a few months.

How much was it out of interest?  Not sure the car warrants a posh stainless, but current options are a £30 cheapo or £70 for something with a name (Walker or Bosal).

I need to get some, but its a bit down the list. Tyres first. Let me know where you get yours from if you don't mind.

This morning I had the pleasure of driving the x6 which is a massive ugly thing but it's the 4.0d version so is a 3.0 twin turbo diesel so pretty quick.

Few problems obvs. Tyre pressure warnings when there all fine and please go slow warning as you need new brake pads. Yeah okay. It's in tomo for them anyway.

Next up I went to move the Range Rover out my parking spot. It's just had a load of work done ffs. New eml.

Now for the drive home I am ready to go in this. Best bit of the day.

Cannot remember the numbers but it was 20% cheaper for the stainless made for it than the normal one.

In the end I bought one section from ebay and fitted that.

I also did it again 18 months later...

Getting ready to head north to the Manchester Classic Car Show. Looking forward to meeting Autotest folk on Sunday. Slightly nervous, but I'm sure no nuns and kittens will be harmed. Not sure about Mazdas. We'll see...

My 806 passed the MOT yesterday, not bad for 252,000 miles. It looks a bit rough but still does the job.

That sticker on back left could be a red pink rag to a bull for some drivers.

I think that is more accurate :)

I think that's the right choice - If you keep it you'll only end up trying to make it as good as the yellow one.......I understand why people collect different variations of the same car but for me I would far rather have one good example of a spec I like.

Girl in local barbers used to have a sticker on her Micra that read "If you're going to ride my ass at least pull my hair".

A couple of weeks ago I went from 3 to 2 cars, a bit easier to manage so naturally I've been looking for another car. Recent contenders have been as diverse as a 1972 Triumph Spitfire and a 2002 Mercedes CL500 and tomorrow I'm off to see a Reliant Scimitar which has been unused for 8 years. I had a nice 12 year auto with PAS which was lovely so of course this is 40 years old, manual with no PAS.

I seem to have a theme of buying derelict cars, resurrecting them then selling them on at a modest loss.....
