Were dents and parking damage on the factory options list? Most, including this one have those ticked.

If not the usual standard of driving seen by their owners would explain it.

Rain comes in the Renault and I've been chasing it around the car and curing it as I go.  The windscreen appears to be sealed now, which is great, but there's a dribble coming down the passenger bulkhead that just seems to appear halfway down the panel.  Water also seems to be coming out of the join where the body meets the chassis inside the car.  I've poofed some talcum powder about to see what that highlights, but is there a common spot for water to get in on the passenger side on the 6 (and 4, since it's the same metal work in this area)?

Nothing! That's what could go wrong.

And they smell of lemon too.

The only problem is that I might have thrown the envelope with the centres away, doh!

Dishwasher best small parts washer. Especially lamp clusers (that don't have electrical gubbins in) and badges and grilles and that.

Got a decent removal tool but it's only moving the suspension cylinders about just now which is less than ideal. If defeated I'll add it to the brake pipe that's also needing replaced by the garage and they can swear at it instead.

Do you have the suspension on high? Apparently the trick is to back up onto ramps, up on high and leave the engine running, then crack the spheres off half a turn, then down low, de-pressurise and continue to swear to remove them fully.

The system being under pressure stops the cylinders turning

Having long since been priced out of the 2cv market, and c15s not having enough seats, I've had to do a bit of lateral thinking and buy citroen's c15 successor, with a 2cv-esque roof....

'HW' means Isle of Wight registered originally. There is a Citroen C2 in Kidderminster also sporting a 'HW' Isle of Wight reg.

I had a few days off last week and naturally left it until the last afternoon to start assembling the tyre rack bought to free up garage space.

Fuck me, how did I get so  much shite? (ebay mainly.....)

Rack was over filled instantly and all the crap  filled up the space again, although I did throw a couple of Alfa rear seats into the council skips, and half an Unos worth of cardboard.

Was driving the community minibus today (a shite-spec VW LT that has a dose of ratlook going on) and happened to drive into a massive storm that no-one had told me about. I'm used to the 2CV feeling a bit wayward in a breeze, but not a 3 ton minibus! We hit one gust that almost brought it to a stop. Downhill. Then we got into town, where broken windows, chimney pots and roof slates were trying to dice up pedestrians. Fun times!

Thankfully, I made it back home without incident, but I'm glad the 2CV is already stashed safely in the garage. I still haven't done a thing to it since getting home. Patience!

I think we got the wind yesterday. I was struggling to stand up and trying not to think about the six ferry journeys I was going to take today.

Ah! I did try the on high trick but not with it running so will give that a bash.

Cheers!

Let us know how it goes! (so I know it's worth doing when I do mine!) The pressure clamps all the shit together apparently so it doesn't do what it's doing to you. Only crack it though, I imagine it'll take your head off if the sphere comes off whilst under pressure and your in the way!

Another mini-shiter joins the fold. The trip home was in a MK3 Cavalier for the poor little sod as well.

Divide number of fleet by number of JohnKlets before the new arrival.  New arrival now justifies X fleet additions.  "It's for their inheritance" or "they'll grow into it" are both suitable excuses.

When I heard about the Aberystwyth storm on the radio earlier, my first thoughts were not for the poor unfortunates whose houses or caravans were damaged, not even did I think" I hope nobody was injured"

No, my first thought was about an old Citroen belonging to someone I've never met !

Wilko spray painted alloys still looking ok after six months. £6 well spent IMHO. New tyres now fitted since pic. post-5532-0-52513900-1479471823_thumb.png

I didn't feel much more resistance for the cylinders to move with the engine on TBH but having it on high does give enough room to properly swing on the removal tool or use varying degrees of force. For some reason it was much more cooperative this time anyway so I wonder if doing it when it's baltic cold outside is the answer.

Either that or the suspension cylinders will fall out or something.

Those wheels look really good, you should branch out to doing refurbs...............................

Deciding if I should get the wheels on the LS400 refurbished, as mine are now starting to flake off in places (NSF being the worst).

But then decided to have a look on the eBay to see if any other LS alloys are for sale, and finally found a full set of LS430 alloys (5!) and look to be in good condition, with tyres with good amount of tread left on!

At £340 including postage, I feel this is too good an opportunity to miss!

Need to see if they will fit without needing to use spacers to clear the front calipers. Don't fancy spending that much money on somthing that'll be hard to shift on if they don't fit.

Latest fleet photograph. I collected the Tommy 125 scooter this afternoon: bus into town, then pushed it home about 3.5 miles.

O-M-G You have a Mk2 Cavalier

I've always wanted one, but recent news means I won't be able to buy for a long time.

Best recent spot. A bit of a google suggests it has an 1.8 engine with 150 bhp...

Makes me think of this picture from the previous page, that I wonder if the owner of this house said to their neighbour?
