Collectioning tomorrow - something big, thirsty and void of a MoT

Well done with the clearance autoshite style :)

Reduction is a contraction of two words:  repeated introduction.  Not a lot of people know that.

Farm shenanigans completed. Loss of space not as horrific as anticipated, but still frustrating.

Visitors tucked up nicely in garage (DS/P4)

Smart still here

Life just keeps on being chaotic

I still think Ford Pumas are seriously underrated.

Been waxoyling the Galloper-chassis today. Well, half of it, for now.

I was wearing a breathing-mask, security-glasses and a complete painters overall like this nice looking man here:

Schutzanzug-Overall-Maleranzug-Virenschu

But despite all that, there is one thing I have to say to you about this job: It´s the ugliest, most horrible and the dirtiest of all jobs I have ever done!

Utterly, utterly horrible.

I´m off to take a shower...

Van's gear linkage popped off tonight - previous cable tie repair by a previous owner finally gave up.

Will renew the cable tie for now but it turns out there's a clip/clamp that can be bought for £6 to help hold the worn link rod in place without fucking around replacing the cables :D

Easy fix for that......drill a small hole in the socket in line with the waist of the ball and insert small spilt pin.

Access can make this simple task impossible though.........

I suppose the good fuel efficiency is why the heater is shit. My mk3 golf diesel used to be the same, i'd have to thrash it to get it warm and when going down hills the heater would start to blow cold. I put a couple of thermostats in it but in the end it turned out that there just wasn't enough waste heat from the engine to keep me warm.

The heater in my Caddy TDI seems fine, and old 405 diesels have heaters like furnaces.

Modern Sprinters are utter shit, the engine temperature drops at idle so you essentially have no heat if you're waiting around.

I have been wearing a similar outfit. But that was for insulating the loft. (Still not finished)

I've just bought a moped (scooter) the name of which sounds like a Korean dog training class.

I am the high bidder on a non turbo Citroen with no mot near Nottingham. Only 20 hours to go to find out if Mrs Ruff is going to lop off my conkers.

In other news, anyone available for shit Citroen collection capers?

As The late Dudley Moore once said, they're boxy, but they're good; 900L of horse bedding does in fact fit into a Volvo 740 Estate, proving Dud was astute in his judgement.......

More fleet news-

Merc gearbox playing up, suspect a borked rad has allowed fluids to mix, gutted as a deal was being lined up with a certain saab 900, untill my wife discovered no reverse.....post-4673-0-92666400-1477743742_thumb.jpg

Merc in happier times...

How's the bodywork on the A208 there? '99 should have TC drain so be easier to change fluid on, if you can then clean out the box properly... I'm going to express a loose and vague interest in taking on a CLK cabriolet as a winter project if you're going to part with it...

Today I bodged the rear OS silencer on the Jag with some of that bandage stuff, as it was blowing quite badly with a 10p sized hole in the top. It worked surprising well and will suffice until I get around to replacing it. I also bought a new boot lock for it the other day as the old one is shot, 26 quid so not too bad but delivery is estimated for 7 days time. It's only coming from Hampshire FFS.

Gave the Senator a quick rinse and that's it for today. I'm hopefully renting a new lock up soon so I can store it over the winter and use the Jag instead. I need to start saving for a Senator fund as it'll need welding to see another MoT, plus I still haven't had the heater matrix replaced yet. But despite the issues and the fact it's a bit ropey in general, I just love driving it so figure it's worth keeping alive!

Made it home safely in my new* Volvo S60 T5...... it's a bit fucked though

Pics in your thread, please!

Picked up 230 litres of cabbage juice this afternoon, took the ZX because it's larger than the 106. I know it looks awful, has various non-essential things not working etc., but by Darwin's beard it's lovely to drive.
