I got the p6 radiator re cored. I went to fit it tonight and thought I'd fit the new stat and gasket I've got sitting for it. If you've ever changed a stat on a v8 p6 you'll remember as its it's an awkward bastard. I fitted the rad and being an impatient dick I fired it up and it started pishing water out the stat housing more than likely because the silicon hadn't set yet. I've taken it apart again and re sealed it so hopefully it'll be watertight when I try tomorrow'.

I missed out on a 3 owner H reg 300SL-24 for £2850 a month or so back. I regret not having the stones to do the deal.

Be grateful it wasn't the motor..:)

The linkage flaps about a bit because of all the unlubricated wipes...

I'll only do an SL in M119 V8 form, I'd feel like I'd compromised if I went for a straight six model. On the other hand, an SL280 will do the legal limit just fine!

Still leaking, then I noticed this product "reccomended" by Rimmend brose

Non setting gasket compound. What? What's that used for? I'm going to use non setting tile cement on my bathroom as I want the pleasure of putting all the tiles back up every time I have a shower.

I'd go with rad too. Engine is working hard at motorway speeds and needs good cooling. At that mileage rad is probably getting past its due date

More than twenty for free delivery but less than fifty. Judging on what I brought I'll guess at 43 quid

That moment when you consider a trade account with Mercedes, then worry you could genuinely spend as much every month as just leasing a new one "slowly restoring" three cars...
