It'll take a goodly while for any 2CV transformation to occur, as I'm hardly the quickest of workers. Even though I did once re-chassis a 2CV in a couple of weekends (the fact that the replacement chassis was rolling was a big help, but it still took me ages to do what some folk can do in one day).

You won't be alone.

Fez or Starlet Trig; that said rml2345 had nearly 170k on his 8-year old Yaris when he stuffed it into an electricity junction box and it had been a driving school car.

If its a proper factory fit sunroof then it's not supposed to seal round the glass . the water should drain via the cassette corner drains. Have you dropped the headlining to check if the cassette is rusted through or pipe come off ?

I'm getting a bit fed up of having to explain it, but the normal drains are working fine. They're not the problem. The issue is that the frame that holds the glass has started to corrode, so water is effectively getting through the seal on the glass. A full removal and cure is required, but that's not happening while it's hovering around zero outside, with rain forecast.

The fiesta is the shitters choice for sure but if you want something to get in and go you can't go too far wrong with the yaris. I imagine the 1.3 goes pretty well too .

Get the shell, Ian.  Think of the story you could write...  :D

Something big is happening just around the corner from me, there's kitted up armed response hidden in a road at the side of the main road by a field in an unmarked car, there's also kitted up armed response in a marked car further down the road looking up towards the first car I saw and I'm sure I saw another unmarked with kitted up armed response in around the corner, my attention was only bought to the first one as no one ever parks there and the two guys in the front looked interested in mrs fp's rs as I drove by

VOSA* will be involved somehow...

Standard XM issue number 6 I think. My drain tubes were fine, the frame was lifting aroudn the glass. I took the 'I want to get to work in the dry' approach and sealed the whole thing up and took the motor out so it didnt get pressed accidentally and buggar it up even more. Looking at the how to on clubxm, it needs a week at least of stunning weather to complete the job!

Well, sealing has occurred. Not a perfect job, but will be dry tomorrow apparently, so I can tidy it up. To celebrate, I began pulling relays out to clean them up (I gave them a quick clean yesterday, but have some contact cleaner now). Naturally, I dropped one of the relays, which has now vanished. They control the cooling fans. Arse.

Ahh well, at least you will stay dry. The cooling fans probably won't be needed until around August anyway.....

Found out on the way home from work in freezing fog this morning that The Volvo's rear fog lights aren't working. Balls.

It's all go here at Cavcraft: one of the fleet left then one of our celebrity* customers dropped by to see what we had in stock.

Are they still a celebrity if you don't recognise them?

Just read on tinterweb that 83% of italian police rang in sick on new years eve.

17% attendance is a right result.

I've always assumed that if I don't recognise them they must be a celebrity.  It's one of those words whose meaning has changed to now be 'talentless feckless wonder with nothing between the ears' rather than 'accomplished actor/musician/artist/philanthropist/other individual of note'.

They are only a celebrity if you don't recognise them.

I hate ebay, I got into a bidding frenzy in the last few seconds on that blue Yaris, I bid £830 then 2 seconds later i got outbid at £850 and then it finished. I would have paid £850 too!

Posted

Ah, but it wouldn't have ended there, the other buyer might have been prepared to pay any price because it matches his wife's varicose veins or something.

Starlet ! That fiesta looks like it's getting the std mk3 rust in the centre of the door shut. God knows how they rust there but its the beginning of the end.

Starlet !

I've just placed a £500 bid on it and it's now met it's reserve, still 8 days left to run though.

It's annoying when you do that, as this now means you can't bid on anything else for 8 days or until someone outbids you.

You don't need to enter a bidding frenzy, just enter your highest bid, i.e. £850 then if someone else bids £850 with 2 seconds left you get the car because you bid £850 before they did.

(Pretty sure) if you did find something else in the meantime you can retract your bid, there are a number of valid excuses you can use that ebay provide in the drop down box when doing this.
